When you fall back down
And you lost your crown
Get back up, walk around
Turn that frown upside down

Take my hand once again
We will all understand
Help you find a new plan

Whoooooa
It's time to help you
Get you back on your feet and on your way
If the tables were turned around
I know you'd be there for me
It all works out

Don't get lost and forget
Turn the lights off and rest
Don't you worry no more
Heal your pain and your sores
We'll be there when you wake
No more sweat or the shakes
Feel the love if you can
Lost your mind, feel insane

Whoooooa
You're feeling hopeless
And all your dreams have gone away
Take the time to heal your sorrows
And disappear from the world
Live for tomorrow

Hope you changed your ways
There's not much more to say
When the dark turns to gray
Broken hearts fade away

Whoooooa
It's time to help you
And get you back on your feet and on your way
If the tables were turned around
I know you'd be there for me
It all works out

And I hope that it all works out [x5]

General Commentbasically, I've got your back.

more importantly though, this song means blind melon is back. i saw them the other night prior to getting the new album, and they played a bunch of their new stuff. All of it was excellent (the first three cuts on For My Friends). Rarely do I hear a band say 'we're going to play something new' and get excited. Everyone wants the old favorites, but everyone immediately got excited for bm's new material. Excellent job boys

General CommentWell, I think this song is more than just "i'll be there for you when you're down." To me, at least, it's more to all the Melon fans who are still around. These lines especially:
    take my hand once again
    we will all understand
help you find a new plan

It's like, even though Shannon Hoon is gone, we're all going to move on from here and figure this out together (how to move on and start again). I also think there are some Hoon references in here. He died of a cocaine overdose, but was a serious heroin addict as well. When you quit either of those (trust me i would know..) you get the shakes and break out in crazy cold sweats. There is a line that references those things. So to me, that part of the song is to Shannon. As if to say, while you're resting we'll take it from here so you can get better. He's at peace now, and doesn't have those pains he felt in life. :) That may be way off but that's how I took it. Especially since its their first song to come out since Shannon died (RIP Shannon!!!) with a new lead singer.

General CommentA few lines in this I feel were written, in Shannon Hoon's memory, to the world.
    "Don't get lost and forget,
turn the lights off and rest",
"We'll be there when you wake" &
    "hope you changed your ways"
Are all lines that could be interpreted as being towards the spirit of Shannon.
RIP Shannon Hoon, we won't forget your kind soul.
