Blocking the Sun Lyrics

The city remembers me and I'm still alone
The skyline reminds me that I don't have a home

You've been there patiently
You've been there...

Trust is a river
Moving, breaking
You move right through me
And I am waking
You have shown me truth through trust

The buildings are casting shadows and blocking the sun
The city is stretched for miles and I feel so small
The city remembers me and I'm still alone
The clouds all surround me turning
My heart into stone

You've been there patiently
You've been there...

Trust is a river
Moving, breaking
You move right through me
And I am waking
You have shown me truth through trust

So you know everything about me
And still you love me as I am
I can't change everything around me
But you can make me whole!

So you know everything about me
And still you love me as I am
I can't change everything around me
But you can make me whole!

(These buildings, this city it's killing me too quickly!
You've been there, patiently writing a different story)

You've been there patiently
You've been there...

Trust is a river
Moving, breaking
You move right through me
And I am waking
You have shown me truth through trust

About feeling so alone, even in an entire city full of people, but then tuning to God for comfort. I THINK. anyone else want to add to these comments? I'm surprised that there aren't any more. I mean, these guys are new to the music scene, but they're good.

Ok... this song is about feeling alone is such a "go-with-the-flow" world. The city represents the urban population (go-with-the-flow people) and the buildings represent certain people who try to turn you away from God, the clouds represent the words they say... and of course the sun represents God. The Light. here we go:

"The city remembers me and I'm still alone The skyline reminds me that I don't have a home"

People are looking at him differently and are probably treating him injustly because he is different. He can't find anyone else out there who is like him in this sea of people.. and feels alone. When he looks out into the horizon, he realizes that this is not his home and he shouldn't be there.

"You've been there patiently You've been there..."

All the while, God has been there with him and even though sometimes it doesn't feel like it.

"Trust is a river Moving, breaking You move right through me And I am waking You have shown me truth through trust"

Trust is like a river... He realizes that God is the only one he can truly trust in this midst of all that is happening in the world. God moves right through him and he now knows truth rather than lies that have been given to him from the "city".

"The buildings are casting shadows and blocking the sun The city is stretched for miles and I feel so small The city remembers me and I'm still alone The clouds all surround me turning My heart into stone"

Certain people are trying to turn him into someone like them. They are also blocking his view of the light and putting him into a positiong where he can only trust whoever is talking to him. They are belittling him into becoming one of them... he is obviously outnumbered. Their words are "clouding" his vision and turning his heart into something it's not.

"So you know everything about me And still you love me as I am I can't change everything around me But you can make me whole"

He comes to God and he obviously knows that God knows everything that happened to me... but yet God still loves him. He can try to change the "city" but may not be successful, but he knows that God can still make him whole again.

that's what I think the song is about. =D
