to me, the chorus is saying that we're always changing. we might realize that we used to be a way but its just about impossible to get back to the way that we used to be. the journey of life has already changed us and you cant unlearn anything. its like trying to find a needle in the dark... damn near impossible, but if you did find it, would you really want to? that could potentially be dangerous.
and the whole song to me just seems like an ode to keep on keeping on. of course some bad things are going to happen. but its ok. "we can only have sunshine after the rain." change isnt a bad thing. hard times bring lessons and that brings wisdom and that is the only way we can grow.
rain + sunshine = growth!
the last verse is my favorite. it feels i can relate to it the most. i'm always lost in my imaginations having conversations in my head (haha). it does feel like some of us are stumbling around, not really committed to a path, but its ok. we have our ears to the ground waiting for the next thing to come.
