I'm coming home
I've been gone for far too long
Do you remember me at all?
I'm leaving
Have I fucked things up again?
I'm dreaming
Too much time without you spent

It hurts, wounds so sore
Now I'm torn, now I'm torn

I've been far away
When I see your face
My hearts burst into fire
Hearts burst into fire

You're not alone
I know I'm far from home
Do you remember me at all?
I'm leaving
Do you wait for me again?
I'm screaming
No more days without you spent

It hurts, wounds so sore
Now I'm torn, now I'm torn

I've been far away
When I see your face
My hearts burst into fire
Hearts burst into fire

My bed's so cold, so lonely
No arms, just sheets to hold me
Has this world stopped turning?
Are we forever to be apart?
Forever to be apart

It hurts, wounds so sore
Now I'm torn, now I'm torn

I've been far away
When I see your face
My hearts burst into fire
Hearts burst into fire

I'm coming home, I've been gone for too long
I'm coming home, do you remember me at all?
Do you remember me at all?

I'm leaving, I'm screaming, I'm dreaming
My hearts burst into fire

I think you're all wrong. The song IS about a relationship, but NOT a breakup. It's about missing the ones he loves when he's on tour: "I'm coming home, I've been gone for far too long". It's also about how he thinks they feel about him being away all the time "Have I fucked things up again?". He's also scared that he's been gone for so long that no-one will recognise him "Do you remember me at all?". The chorus is his elation to be seeing the one(s) that he loves again, he's so happy that his "Hearts burst into fire". It's soo good he feels like he's dreaming. Not that, for Bullet, this song has a happy tone to it.

I know this song is about him missing that certain someone while he was on tour, but this song means so much more to me. This song helped me get thru 3 tours in Iraq while my wife was worrying about me. Now it's my turn, she's gone to the middle east and this song is helping her. Can't wait to hold her again!!!

Mmm. I believe the first line of the breakdown is...

"My bed so cold, so lonely"

Make more sense going into the next line.

Blackjack is right, it's "My Bed so cold, so lonely no arms just sheets to hold me"

This is another cute song, so far listening to the new CD, BMFV rised to the occassion. This CD is so far, without a doubt their best, it's mature and aggressive. I love it so much. I can't wait for them to start touring to Canada. Go pick up the new CD, it's AMAZING.

This song will probably end up being one of their most popular overall.

Was anyone at HMV in Cardiff when the BFMV were there? This LP is neat so far. For me this song is a nice easy one to listen to. It is easy to recognize that it is to do with a relationship that turned sour. This song concludes echoing leaving you wondering what the hell the outcome was!

Possibly a release, what do you think.. Epic song.

BFMV songs are too easy to interpret, relationship that went wrong, he left, now he's coming back, wonders if she still remembers him in a good way, etc.

Also, does anybody else think this has a bit of a Funeral For a Friend sound to it? Reminds me a lot of them.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
