That\'s basically a song about a complicated romantic relationship with an allegoric reference through super mario bros. The main character essentially struggles to conquer the heart of this person and truly wants it, like in a videogame.
Man, that last line is just fucking awesome. Great song.
Sounds like it's from the POV of a transhuman or extraterrestrial vampire. "Be my prize" and "give me life" addresses the prey. "I'm infinite beyond a doubt" indicates being way-more-than-human, and "not a sinister heart, but a mind at peace" suggests some sort of mental transcendence. "To wake up our species" means either to begin an uprising and conquest of the world by the human race's successor.

Update: Edge is a character, and Pearl (in early English editions, later known as Holy) is an important spell, in Final Fantasy IV. However, in this game, I don't think Edge could cast Pearl since Edge is a ninja and it isn't a ninja spell. Anyone here played FF4?
