Yeah we are
Talking about
Plastic girls,
With egotistic guys
Oh yeah talking about
It looks void
Oh how we lie
So you can
Brace yourself that
Oh this is...
(This is just a waste of time!)

And tongue and cheek
I'm naive
Can't you please
Stay with me

Breath in, breath out
Well let's do something different
Breath in, breath out
(Can you taste it yet? Can you taste it yet?)
Breath in, breath out
Well let's do something different
Breath in, breath out
(Can you taste it yet? Can you taste it yet?)

What do you think of me? Yeah!
Nothing to you anymore
Here's some words
Write down
To give to you so you know what you've lost

Tongue and cheek
I'm naive
(I'm naive)
Can't you please
(Please)
Stay with me

Breath in, breath out
Well let's do something different
Breath in, breath out
Breath in, breath out
(I've got your courage...)
Let's do something different
(I've got your courage... Just the same song)
Breath in, breath out

On and on
It's just the same old song we're singing
On and on, just the same
On and on
It's just the same old song we're singing
On and on, just the same
On and on
It's just the same old song we're singing
On and on, just the same

On and on
It's just the same old song we're singing
On and on
(On and on)
Just the same

    Hey guys

Sorry I couldn't find the lyrics ANYWHERE on the internet (Google) and I noticed they weren't on this site either.

Um, I tried my best to get them right, but the first verse is particularly hard to understand (what with the screaming ect and he's not very clear)...

So if you think they need editing or you have some ideas/ corrections feel free to tell me!! But don't just say like, "These lyrics are wrong" cos that's no help to me!!

    Ok...

    Cheers

And I will edit them if you think they're wrong... Just tell me what I need to edit...

i think this is a really good attempt. pretty hard to translate with the rather sruntish screams they put in

only query i have. when you put and plastic guys.

it sounds more like egotistic boys. but i dont know if thats even a word.

and where you put what do you think of me, I'm pretty sure that's what do you think you're doing. like I said, hard to hear with the screaming.

and before the line"nothing to you anymore" it says "***** to you, I mean:" but I cant work out that word

other than that I think it's pretty spot on :)

    well done

Hey thanks for your comment... I haven't been able to get on the computer for a couple of days, so yeah...

Um, I think you could be right about the "egotistic" thing... I don't know if it's a word either, but maybe the guys have big egos cos they've got these "hot" plastic girlfiends? I don't know. I'm going to put egotisic in anyway. I just thought "Plastic girls, plastic guys- whatever, hopefully someone else will comment on it and have some idea of what it might be" so thank you.

and the "...nothing to you anymore" bit, I know there's something in front of it, I just can't work it out. Oh well.

I'm missing heaps of lines in this song- the screamo bits mostly, think. They're so unclear. Awesome song, but bloody hard to understand. Ha ha...

I'm listening to it right now, but trying to figure it all out is stressing me out and I think we're just going to have to wait till the album comes out and HOPEFULLY they'll include lyrics and this song will be on there.

    Ok... Over and out.

And anyone else who has some ideas, feel free to let me know... If they make sense, I'll change them as soon as I can.

I also thought, that the "egotistic guys" could also be "we go to stick guys" whatever the fuck that means... Lol. Like, go fight them or something... Ha ha. LMAO... Seriously, I like, just laughed out loud.

it is egotistic. as in a person who is only concerned with their own feelings/needs. sorry im a bit of an english swot :] and i think its "tongue in cheek" as in saying something in a tone that sounds serious but isnt. not sure but i think that would make sense maybe??

either way its a good song but i agree the screaming makes it difficult to work out lyrics!!

The bit before 'nothing to you anymore' I'm sure it says 'I've found out that i mean'

I think it might be "plans with girls" not "plastic girls" but I'm not sure. also can someone tell me what the song is actually about or does NO one really know the lyrics at all?

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
