Don't you feel so alone (Don't you feel so alive)
Think i'm losing control (That's only in your mind)
Let's get lost with our thoughts (Then we'll all get some peace)
Almost got there before (Yeah it's too far to reach)

Does this make any sense (If it's all in your mind)
As if anybody cares (So now just wait for your time)
We're falling further behind (Take your time to perceive)
Yeah they can be so unkind (Please don't wait for release)

We've been further before with the start of your needs
Hasn't come back for more asked if we should be pleased
Never calling a friend puts you back in its place
'Cos you know where it ends right back in your lazy greys

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
