Awesome lyrics. I saw them posted on TKC (idk if you're here, Livvy), and they caught my attention, so I looked up the song.
I'm really into this sort of thing: liking music because you like it, not because other people do or it gets a certain stereotype.
But so many people say the same thing, and are so against "fake fans" that they start a sort of competition, saying that they are more of a fan than other people. I don't agree with people who say that they like a band just because of a single, but yet, how am I supposed to know if they really do just like the music?
So all us hardcore music fans are sorta stuck, and confused.
But I like the first few lines alot: "Is that all that matters anymore -- Who happened to like that band first And who likes them more?"

Agree with all comments! Love this track....love the lyrics! Not just words chucked together cos they rhyme but it actually means something and it actually makes sense (the kooks should take some tips). These will be around for a long time!!
The Smiths references; "hand in glove", "strangeways". Strangeways being the prison in manchester :) one of my favourite Courteeners songs, criticizing the 'scene.
well maybe im misunderstanding the point but i feel that they lyrics are really pretentious wwho gives a shit if other people are all in there heads about being fans and what not just listen to the music and enjoy it..there are no real fans and fake fans just ppl who like the music its not anyones place to disdain another person for being a "fake" fan just worry about yourself..
