The Deception Lyrics

They said it couldn't be done
And so it seems
I proved them all wrong

In spite of them
I have become
The chosen one

This is the devil's game
This is a holiday
This is the devil's game
It turns me on

All I ever wanted
Is a little revolution
But here I sit
With my head in my hands
Lost in a sea of deception

And this ship won't let me sink
And the wind won't talk about
England expects
England expects

If you feed them a lie
They will take it and run
And who could blame them

This is the devil's game
This is a holiday
This is the devil's game
This is a holiday

This is about Donald Crowhurst. He entered the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, a single handed round the world yacht race. He got into trouble early in the race when his boat began to fall apart. He was determined to set the fastest time so he abandoned the race and falsely reported his position without actually travelling around the world. He disappeared before the end of the race and his boat was found abandoned. Evidence suggests that he went insane and committed suicide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Crowhurst

strange, for me it always sounds like england expands and not expects. But now that I listen to the lyrics again it's expects. Hm, I liked expands more though. Great song with a phenomenal atmosphere to it.
