If I had eyes in the back of my head
I would have told you that
You looked good
As I walked away

And if you could've tried to trust the hand that failed
You would've never been hungry
But you never really be

The more of this or less of this or is there any difference
Or are we just holding onto the things we don't have anymore

Sometimes time doesn't heal
No not at all
Just stand still
While we fall
In or out of love again I doubt I'm gonna win you back
When you got eyes like that
It won't let me in
Always looking out

Lot of people spend their time just floating
We were victims together but lonely
You got hungry eyes that just can't look forward
Can't give them enough but we just can't start over
Building with bent nails we're
Falling but holding, I don't wanna take up anymore of your time
Time time time

Sometimes time doesn't heal
No not all
Just stand still
While we fall
In or out of love again I doubt I'm gonna win you back
When you got eyes like that
It won't let me in
Always looking out
Always lookin'
Always lookin'
Always lookin'
Always looking out

General Commentjust heard this song on the radio and loved it, jack johnson is soo awesome. i think this songs about a guy whos girl left him, but he still really likes her. He was always there for her and always tried to make things good, but she never really tried back. Now that its over, hes still trying, but he wonders if its gonna work.

Now hes starting to realize, maybe because this is his first experience with someone so close, things dont always get better with time. And he is starting to realize that he wont be able to be with her if she keeps being the way she was and not trying.

they werent the greatest couple, but they were together, but something was missing, and no matter how hard he tried, she just wouldnt care to try back, so now its over and he doesnt want to bother with her if she doesnt want to bother with him

    sad but good song

General CommentThis is truly a beautiful song. Time doesn't heal everything and that is a shocking realization when you first experience it. The guy's girl can't seem to get on track with him "You got hungry eyes that just can't look forward". It seems as if he is maturing and moving through a different phase of life and she is stuck in old ways, perhaps a major reason they did not work out?

    Some lyric corrections:
The more of this or less of this or is there any difference
or are we just holding onto things we don't have anymore

When you've got eyes like that

You've got hungry eyes that just can't look forward

A lot of people spend their time just floating

General Commentif only the new album would come out sooner.. love the use of the electric guitars in this song though. i kinda get the idea this is about some kind of relationship that is past the point of healing or reconciliation... they always say time heals everything, but sometimes that's just not the case. but theres more to this song... just cant grasp it all yet

General CommentGreat song!! I just can't wait to listen to the entire album!!!. I agree with ontheinside, iti is about a relation that has already past and they are trying to accept that everything is just over and they can't do anything about it and though there is still love, they just know they can`t reconcilliate, something that "Time doesn't heal" Nice song!!

General CommentHeard this song was based on a cute statement Jack's son said about having eyes where they're not meant to be.... wish I could refind that article!
Sweet song.... seems catchier than Sleep through the Static

General CommentI'm loving the new album. I really like this song... I think it's talking about a relationship past the point of healing, like others have mentioned, and because of a lack of openness on someone's part. I have had, and hate, that feeling of "...just holding on to things we don't have anymore..." and
"Building with bent nails, we're falling but holding...".

General CommentOn an interview he did on Sirius Radio, he said he got the first line from his son who was pretending he had an eye on his tail and then told his dad he looked good when he was walking away. Jack decided to say eyes in the back of my head instead of on my tail though, haha. Good song

General Commentthis is such a good song. i'm kind of going through this now after ending a really long relationship with my boyfriend and best friend in the whole world. time really doesn't heal everything. and i don't think it ever will. i think what he means when he says "i doubt i'm gonna win you back with eyes like that" is that she has a wandering eye and he's afraid she won't let him back in when he is recovered and ready to try again... she'll have found someone new.

General CommentIt'd be really awesome if this song is the reply to Courtney Jaye's Can't Behave
