I ain't got no soul
I left you crying, and talking on your phone
Saying I ain't got no soul

I ain't got no alcohol
So I went out drinking, instead of to your home
I ain't got no soul

All I do is try and try to make you cry
Kick you in the shins, I poke you in the eye
It’s out of my control
I ain't got no soul

All you do is good, do everything you should
Pay back the devil to save me if you could
I listen to rock and roll
But I ain't got no soul

I ain't got no place to go
I don’t need no-one
I'm a rebel, I'm a rebel (yeah)

Oh I could cry when I was feeling low
But that would take a heart
And that's the body part that I don’t own

Lol. I love this song! It makes me laugh at the "kick you in the shins, I poke you in the eye" part. Anyway, this song sounds like some sort of Hamlet excuse to being mean to me. Like, I've no soul so I can be horribly awful... it's not hard to figure out, I think. lol.

I take it more of a sarcastic response to a girl who said he had no soul.

the "All you do is good, do everything you should" part supports that

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
