Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems,
Better put 'em in quotations

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you'd be better off instead,
If you could only

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Say what you need to say

Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You'd better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open

Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say
Say what you need to say, say what you need to say

great song to help you get out what you really feel. Life is to short to hold in your feelings and not say whats on your mind. what you believe and want to say is just as important as the next person. just let people know how you feel because you never know what doors can open.. or shut so new ones can open.

Say by John Mayer stresses the importance of saying what you need to say because you may lose the chance to do so. He finds it necessary to not waste the opportunity to express your feelings, and that keeping them in can cause you frustration'' andwasted honor''. Being able to speak your mind will enable you to have a clear conscience and not experience any regrets. He refers having the courage to speak up to ``walking like a one man army'', but if you are able to battle and beat the doubts in your mind, then you will end up better off in the long run.

When you do not say how you are feeling, the details end up replaying over and over. Instead of living out the same old moment'', get the issues off of your chest in the first place. The lyrics explain that it is a better option to have too much to say than to never state what your feelings are. The song instructs you to open your heart up wide andsay what you need to say'' regardless of nervousness, broken faith, or a person that is close to being gone. If you do not seize the opportunity, the chance may never come.

I cried this morning when I heard it, because I'm struggling a lot right now with relationships, and I just need to get it all off my chest. It just came at a good time.

    Great song.

Yes, what a beautiful song. Despite me feeling very nervous, I am going to say the things I need to say to some people tomorrow. Good luck to anyone else who is also going to say what they need to say. Remember, you are not alone!

This song is speaking to me so much right now. I have strong feelings for a girl I've recently become good friends with, but I'm struggling with saying anything, because I'm afraid of ruining our friendship.

Anyway, this song is making me feel like I owe it to myself to say something to her and let her know.

...and I may just do that. Beautiful song from a fantastic singer/songwriter and wholly underrated guitarist.

I was in a relationship for about 3 months and at the same time I started to have a crush on my best guy friend. I didn't know if he felt the same way towards me and I asked a lady at my work what I should do, she basically said that she never said what she needed to say when she started liking her best friend as well and now she will never know what could have come of them. I told her I could never tell him how i felt because i didn't want our friendship to become weird. I started by just breaking up with my boyfriend because it was unfair for me to continue in a relationship with someone when i had a crush on my best friend. As soon as I broke up with him, he told me that he had the biggest crush on me... so then i told him that i felt the same... we have been together ever since.....Our song is now SAY because we both were holding back the way we felt because we were scared to ruin what we already had... come to find out if we had not said anything then we would probably have wondered for the rest of our lives what it would have been like.... so Say what you need to say because it is definitely better to say too much than never say what you need to say again!!!!

I love this song and I love the lyrics "Walkin' like a one man army, fightin' with the shadows in your head" I know this all too well. I'm always analyzing everything, and thinking if I could say it, this is how I would say it, but yet I never get around to saying it.

All he is trying to say is, just say what you need to say, you don't have forever so if you feel it in your heart, find a way to voice it because you don't know when the moment may pass you by.

It's obvious what his meaning is. He said it 40 times. I can hardly call this song a favorite, but I guess it's not that bad -- except when the radio plays it over... and over... and over... you know, when it gets almost as repetitive as the song itself?

I think it's kind of obvious what this song is about: Say what is on your mind, how you feel before it's too late.

A great song. I glad he wrote it.

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
