I bit my tongue in the akward conversation
I don't know why, I don't know why
I met you once and I'd fallen for your notions
I don't know why, I don't know why

Do you believe that there's treasures in the ocean?
Did I say I'm just a boy?

One kiss from you and I'm drunk up on your potion
That big old smile is all you wore
Girl, you make me want to feel
The things I've never felt before

Girl, you make me want to feel
Did I say I'm just a boy?
Did I say I'm just a boy?
You hold me to that

No lonely hands grab my suitcase full of nothing
I don't know why, I don't know why
You took me in gave me something to believe in
That big old smile is all you wore

Girl, you make me want to feel
Things I never felt before
Girl, you make me want to feel
Did I say I'm just a boy?
Did I say I'm just a boy?
You can hold me to that

Girl, you make me want to feel
Things I've never felt before
Girl, you make me want to feel
Did I say I'm just a boy?
Did I say I'm just a boy?
You can hold me to that

General CommentMan.. i have a genuine crush on my prof. And i told her about this song, and then realized the subtext there. So now i gaze out the window and just reminisce of how i've fallen for her notions. i dont really know why but she makes me want to feel like there are all these treasures in the ocean, if only we'd search for them you know. And yep she is a Woman, and i am just a boy.....
You can hold me to that.

General CommentThis reminds me of infatutaion from a guy who's fallen for a girl. But there is something really sweet and innocent about it.

General CommentAngus and Julia played this song at Woodford 07/08
Before playing the song, Angus introduced it and said it's about a girl he met at a music festival.
I can relate to that, I also became really infatuated with a girl from a music festival (Woodford Folk Festival). This song makes perfect sense for the situation I was in. Something about music festivals that draws you to wonderful people

General CommentDid Angus ever mention exactly when he met this girl (or woman)?

It just occurred to me that maybe he lost his virginity to her.

    Anyone?

General CommentI always thought the first line was "I bit my tongue in the arch of conversation", are these the set lyrics from a song book or something?

General Commentyou guys pretty much got it.
this song is amazing and if it goes mainstream i think i might have to choke someone.
they need to come to the US, even though this place is pretty lame. they could spice it up.

    i'm loving that harmonica part.

General Commenti heard angus doing an interview on JJJ ages ago
this song is about a girl he met at a gig
and she had him like straight away
but it was like a one day thing
and never eventuated into anything more
    it was just an infatuation

General CommentI think this is about an infatuation. It's fairly obvious.
But I also think the main crux of the song is the title, "Just a Boy". As if being a boy, he can't but being infatuated. "You can hold me to that": his feelings won't last and are unreliable, but he's just a boy and what he's feeling now for her he can't help; he's totally sucked in.

General CommentAlso, just a boy suggests he's still young and still learning.
