It's four a.m. again
Father forgive me this sin
Uncomfortable in this life, yeah
I can't put down this knife, yeah
I'm carving words in my arm, baby
Hey, scars are part of my charm, maybe
I need the touch of a hand
This isn't what I had planned

I need relief from this life
I wanna slip away into the night
Don't wanna see the sun again
But can't get swallowed up
By this tragic whirlwind
I wish the ocean was warm
I feel like drowning

I'm losing my faith in me
I can't remember the last time I felt free
From voices inside my head
When I taste liberation, they just feed me fear instead

You say I'm out of control
At least i still have a soul
No, I don't need your advice
Some compassion would be nice

I need relief from this life
I wanna slip away into the night
Don't wanna see the sun again
But can't get swallowed up
By this tragic whirlwind
I wish the ocean was warm
I feel like drowning

I can't take any more of your pills
They hold my head up
But still it feels so wrong
I can't believe the price that I've paid
For this chemically-induced, perceivably ideal
Take-it-with-a-glass-of-water day

I need relief from this life
I wanna slip away into the night
Don't wanna see the sun again
But can't get swallowed up
By this tragic whirlwind
I wish the ocean was warm
I feel like drowning

My favorite Jay Brannan song. It cuts me deep every time I listen.

    My Interpretation

I think it's obvious this song is about contemplating suicide. It seems like he might not want to do it, he just wants relief that's real. It's really tragic and beautiful.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
