Between the lies, our dead language tongues
Before the dawns, our hearts they shall hunt
The smell of blood excites the nostrils
At first cut, the sanguinary worship of red

Spraying punctures, a sight so divine
Clutching her carcass, face frozen in time
A distorted dialect for the draining of veins
To the flooding of bed sheets with sick crimson rain

A warped diction of scriptures befouled
Traditions steeped within disgraces reviled
Father, unholy one, to your night realm, we bow
Nocturnal majesty, sworn to black we'll always be

Damnation's diction, a deadly disclosure
Our poisons in their goblets drip
How perfectly hideous, so eloquently scribed
Each scripture so skillfully sick

Parchments scabbed over with plasmatic prose
Prophesize permanent night
The words of sheer blackness paint ebony my soul
And bestow me with infernal might

A warped diction of scriptures befouled
Traditions steeped within disgraces reviled
Father, unholy one, to your night realm we bow
Nocturnal majesty, sworn to black we'll always be
Hatred and persistence destined to see
A complete eclipse of that hated sphere, the sun

By the light unspoken
This language of brutality

Hatred and persistence, destined to see
A complete eclipse of that hated sphere, the sun

    My Interpretation

Clearrrllyyy by nocturnal majesty he means a black dude thats really cool to him. Sworn to black well always be is a reference to how hes just tryin to make it out there in the gangsta world, even tho hes white.

"The words of sheer blackness paint ebony my soul and bestow me with infernal might."

Words of sheer blackness refers to the majestys use of ebonics, or "Negro Babble". Paint ebony my soul means the african americanism is spreading throughout is body. And bestow me with infernal might refers to how black people are commonly feared, making the feel mighty and strong, which is what he is experiencing throughout the course of the song.

Hahhaha jk put too much thought into that... fuckin brutal song one of my all time favorites \m/

oh sorry if i offended anyone haha didnt mean any of that..nahh jk i meant it. =D

It has something to do with a pagan or satanic ritual that involves a dead body.

The vocals on here kill. This is by far one of the darkest songs I've ever listened to. It sounds like someone being throw into hell and the gates trapping them in.

It is indeed about vampires. However I like MyOwnBlood's idea about a ritual, so I think this song could be about the resurrection of Dracula, like in Castlevania.

god fucking damn, this song is so metal. and myownblood has it right - the vocals are fucking br00tal. one of my new fav TBDM songs (besides miasma, stat ape, funeral thirst, my horror cosmic... actually i love every tbdm song ;D)

I like the whole Castlevania thing too (Vampires, do I sense a theme?) What A Horrible Night To Have A Curse is not only an awesome song, but when I realized it was from Castlevania 2, I was like wow. I love these boys even more now.

Mmmm, tasty figurative language. This song is Pretty Metal. Even Dethklok would have to agree.

So dark, amazing. This band and their intensity has helped me through so much. This is about vampires, no doubt. LONG LIVE TBDM!

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
