Take it or leave me behind because you know that you never did care at all.
My poor ears have had it, you're coming in static.
Face down on the floor, tuned out across the board like a million times before.
You're living it up now, just wait until it goes down.
How did you get everything you want
When you never did a thing to deserve what you got?
You've got it made, got it all for yourself because that's the only thing
You really seem to care about.

Something tells me I'm in for something good, then the bottle opens
And here we go again.

I won't let you drag me down, no
Not one bit to get yourself back up.
I hope that, for your sake, you make it out in time.
So leave the light on or you'll never make it out alive.

Save it for someone who cares.
You should know that I never did care at all.
And now my sore eyes have had it, I'm kicking this habit.
So pick it up just like you said you'd do, because you've always got a point to prove.
It's win or lose, it's time to choose
You play it like you're hard, but I think I'm on to you.

YOU'RE BEARING LIES ON YOUR CHEST!
THE BOTTLE OPENS AGAIN AND HERE WE GO AGAIN!!
Something tells me I'm in for something good.
Tell me how you like it.

Something tells me I'm in for something good, then the bottle opens
And here we go again.

I won't let (won't let) you drag me down, no
Not one bit to get (to get) yourself back up.
I hope that, for your sake, you make it out in time.
So leave the light on or you'll never make it out alive.

Won't let (won't let) you drag me down, no
Not one bit to get (to get) yourself back up.
I hope that, for your sake, you make it out in time.
So leave the light on or you'll never make it out alive.

All you have has been falling down around you
And I found a way to get along without you

I think... maybe ,that "something tells me I'm in for something good, then the bottle opens / and here we go again" & "YOU'RE BEARING LIES ON YOUR CHEST! / THE BOTTLE OPENS AGAIN AND HERE WE GO AGAIN!! / Something tells me I'm in for something good" could explain how when you're drunk you're more likely to be emotional and you're more likely to confide/let secrets out. the first lyric I quoted could explain that things are going well until whoever gets drunk and starts saying stufff, and the second lyric it has 'something tells me I'm in for something good' like it's awesome theyre guna find out all these secrets! I duno jus my take!?

i think of this as...someone was betrayed. and now they are just moving on without the other person because being with them won't help anything. and they are saying they thier life is fine without them.

So catchy! I hope FYS gets popular, apparently they only tour the east coast right now, maybe they'll get popular on the west oast and come to California some day?

i think its about a relationship with someone who becomes an alcoholic and tries to hide it. dont think i need to go in to any detail.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
