Have your lips graced another's yet
Or am I the only one?
Every time I try to speak to you
Those are the thoughts that run
Say something else, girl
I don't want to have to leave
Our communication is hardly what it used to be

When can I claim you to be my own, so selfishly?
When can I claim you to be my own, my only?

Want nothing more than our futures to collide
Can tell this is going to be one of many disappointing nights
Traces of you are so minimal
A black and white ?? photobook with us

When can I claim you to be my own, so selfishly?
When can I claim you to be my own, my only?

And I have only one week to make you mine
And I may never see you again
It's not only for me, it's not only me
There's a little bit, a little bit here for you
But I'm willing to wait
I'm willing to wait

Day time is no longer the hours spent
Lit by sunlight ?? the hours to obsess
And the night is far worse
'Cause I know you're alone with her
And thoughts of, of us have been deserted
It'll never be the same
I'll never be the same again
I'll never be the same again

I have only one week to make you mine
And I may never see you again
Time is few and far between
There is someone else who needs
There is someone else who needs your attention
But I'm willing to wait
I'm willing to wait
I'm willing to wait
I'm willing to wait

This is the first song in the album that I immediately took a liking to. As far as what it means, the first half makes sense then I have no idea.

I think it's pretty obvious as to what this song means. I'm surprised there isn't more comments on this song, it's one of my favourites. I love how his voice gets so strong at some points.

Yeah this is one of my favorites from the album as well! and yeah it's obvious what it's about. Story of my life. My favorite parts would be: "Want nothing more than our futures to collide Can tell this is going to be one of many disappointing nights Traces of you are so minimal" and the chorus!

Oh and those lyrics w/ the question marks are:

"A black and white bar photo booth with us"

    and

"Lit by sunlight rather the hours to obsess"

I love how his voice gets so emotional too!

"And the night is far worse 'Cause I know you're alone with him"

On the cd, it sounds like he says "alone with her."

I love love love this song though. Probably my favorite on the new cd.

it is in fact "alone with HER." jarrod told me it's about this girl he was with who was bisexual. and she left him a week before he told me this. for the "her" in the song.

Oh, that's too bad about the bi girl leaving him.

I was going to say that I think this song, and actually the feeling of this album, are about dealing with being more in love with your boyfriend/girlfriend than they are with you. Like, with this song, all he wants is for their "futures to collide" but he's going to be disappointed because she's still seeing other girls/guys, so he'll have to wait.

Correction; it's not "futures to collide"...it's "features"

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
