This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
I'd like to take this time to detach my jaw
And really take a look, I think that I'm done
Put away this old guitar, and on my way out
Hang my vocal chords up on the door
If I could just do these things
If I could maybe do these things
Each and every day wouldn't pass
The way that they so often do
That they so often do
And maybe, just maybe
Life would be everything we wanted it to be
I could even peel the skin hiding my face
And ballroom dance with the cartilage of my nose
Just to show you how to really move
Well, I'll show you how to really move
If I could just do these things
If I could maybe do these things
Each and every day wouldn't pass
The way that they so often do
That they so often do
And maybe, just maybe
Life would be everything we wanted it to be
I'll show you how to really move
I'll show you how to really move
If I could just do these things
If I could maybe do these things
Each and every day wouldn't pass
The way that they so often do
That they so often do
And maybe, just maybe
Life would be everything we wanted it to be
And really take a look, I think that I'm done

Hang my vocal chords up on the door

And maybe, just maybe
Life would be everything we wanted it to be

Just to show you how to really move
Well, I'll show you how to really move

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
I think this song is sort of stepping back and taking a look at yourself, and thinking what your life would be like if certain things were different. I also sort of think its kind of someone not being 'good' enough for someone els, and telling yourself if you could ontain certain qualities your lacking you could show them that you are 'good' enough and show them up. thats just my interpretation at least. I love this new album...its soooo great! I love Chiodos!!!!
Or maybe getting enough courage to do something strange and different that you couldnt do before, that might change your life for the better
idk thats what it means to me
first two people pretty much hit the proverbial nail on the head. man.. this song is so dark sounding, atleast the intro... i've gotta say that this is my favorite track off the whole cd
this is abouy some1 who thinks their not good enough for this person but if " they could do these things" they could get the person that
i love chiodos but this song's chorus reminds me of a modern day beach boy song. its good and all, just different.
i agree with most of you but i would like to add maybe it has some personal meaning as in wishing he could be normal he has all these people thowing themselves at famous people and maybe its ruining something he has and wishes he could have it just like they want it. i donno just a thought.
it's ballroom dance not blow a chance [with the cartilage of my nose]
you guys think into the song way to much. its about chiodos itself..if craig and the band just hung up there vocals/guitars, maybe life would be everything they wanted it to be..because i mean being on tour for months and the days go by every single day makes them wonder.
the intro, man, the intro
I hope I can put a new perspective on this. I think what he's trying to say is be happy with things the way they are. Be happy with yourself for who you are and what you've made of yourself. Dont say, "oh I need to change this and that to make my life what I want it to be"
