I'm not the one that you want, I'll only let you down
And I'm pretty sure that you've caught on
And you can say that, oh, I'm just feeling sorry for my

I think it's every time I walk into a room
A silence so sudden that I seem to hear it
Contact saying that you are the rain on their parade

And how long could you hang on to a word?
Tell me, how long could you hang on to a word?

I'm not the one that you want, I'll only let you down
And I'm pretty sure that you've caught on
And you can say that, oh, I'm just feeling sorry for myself

Or maybe it's all eyes on him, in love with ego and intention
The eyes that are just begging me for more
This is gone and I can see it, your head is full of words
Full of words that don't mean anything

And how long could you hang on to a word?
Tell me, how long could you hang on to a word?

I'm not the one that you want, I'll always let you down
And I'm pretty sure that you've caught on
And you can say that, oh, I'm just feeling sorry for myself

I'm not the one that you want, I'll always let you down
And I'm pretty sure that you've caught on
And you can say that, oh, I'm just feeling sorry for myself

my other theory is that he's just insecure about himself.. and he's jsut afraid that she dont love him anymore. that maybe he's just paranoid or sumthing like that.... he says that if they are not in love anymore that its all his fault.... i think its about the insecurity in a relationship, that feeling of be afraid that the other person isnt in love with him anymore....those are the vibes i get from this song

I think this song is about a girl who falls deeply in love with a guy, and he is going through so much, always busy and dealing with his stressful life.....and also so caught up in self pity, and struggles he's facing with his own emotions, and self doubts and insecurities and depression, that he no longer is in love with her and questions if he ever was....despite plans to stay together, he no longer wants to be with her..... and she believes its a phase, and hangs on to hope and the words of hope he once spoke....and she blames everything on him just being in this sad phase and feeling sorry for himself..... despite the fact he doesn't want to be with her anymore, he feels sad over it, because he feels like he could never give her what she wants....and it eats away at him, even when he's around friends he manages to bring the mood down because he's so wrapped up in pity and emotional problems.... and through it all she still waits and hopes he'll come back to her, hanging on everything they once believed would happen.... but he knows its done.....and no matter what she does or says he knows he can never make her happy, because he cannot be happy himself.....so he lets her believe whatever she wants....but when she's with him face to face she can tell that the love is gone...

this is the accual letter, and it's not from janelle ;)

I have the whole story on most of his song.

"baby you wounldn't last one minute on the creek" Baby was Addison, the creek is where they went

Craig started falling heavy into drugs vicodin ectasy, started drinking

they played home show after a big tour and she went to see him she asked the rest of the band where he was they said the bus. when he came out there was a blonde chick in the car and you know the deal. she through him against the car because they fought before alot about petty shit but she said he was different, she saw nothing in his eyes, no remorse no feelings.

the next day he followed her to the creek and in reality he didn't last on the creek he begged and pleed but she walked away from him. He ended up going into his room and fell into a deep sleep. "ive been hiding in this bed for weeks.

"if yourstomach feels week my work here is done" the begginging of the lover and the liar.

"how does it feel to know you've take ones smile" "dont let this die we may never fall in love again" him begging her to stay not to give up. every song he wrote was about her. how he fucked it up i feel for him in everyway cause i do shit that i dont realize ill never let myself go that far and really hurt the girl i love

    Craigery,

    We make the sun shine.

I'll never be one of those hundreds of people in your life who do tricks for treats. Don't you think I could tell that you were trying to make a fool out of me? Can't you see you've been making a fool out of yourself?

Take the time to be still, silent and alone. To remember who you really are, to remember where you've come from and what you've been through.

It's so easy to get lost in constantly having to present, whatever face you believe a person wants to see - rather than your own.

It's funny, how some things in life we take the greatest gamble, heeding cautious words, choosing to follow an undecided future. Yet we hesitate to surrender all of our insecurities... Only the ones we're most comfortable relinquishing.

    Such a paradox, isn't it?

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
