In The Year 2525 Lyrics
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find
Can't tell the truth, can't tell no lie
Everything you think, do or say
Is in the pill you took today
Won't need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to do
Nobody's gonna look at you
Your arms are hanging limp at your side
Your legs have nothing to do
Some machines doing that for you
Won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your sons, pick your daughters too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
Woah-oh
If god is coming, he should make it by then
Maybe he'll look around and say
"Now it's time for the judgement day"
God is gonna shake his mighty hand
He'll leave a salient place where man has been
Or tear it down and start again
Woah-oh
I'm wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything earth had to give
And he's put back nothing
Woah-oh
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Now it's night to yesterday
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find
Can't tell the truth, can't tell no lies
Everything you think do and say
Is in the pill you took today...

If I remember, this song came out in the late 60s, done by Sager & Evans. It was a catchy, slightly scary song if you thought about the lyrics.
One funny lyric is: Man has cried a billion tears.
Sounds like a lot, huh. With a current world population nearing 7 billion, that's one tear for every 7 people, not counting those yet to be born. Guess they couldn't work in "Man has cried 900 octillion tears" (900,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000).

That's a good point. But think about the technology all the other Earths have!!

This song is kinda creepy...

This song is amazing considering they wrote this in the 60's by Zager & Evans. I heard this song once - I'm fairly young and fell in love with it - with the technology this Earth has I wouldn't be surprised - I guess we'll have to wait until the year 2525.
