This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
Watching for you,
Conceived with no eyes.
Listen for the voice.
Plant within me, eyes that open.
Leading where I walk.
I feel I know you well,
If I were you I'd wait
[Chorus:]
Until someone moves or cares,
Stay captive.
Keep yourself there,
Wait for love. [x2]
I see everything,
Every move I make,
Painted before you.
Stall your move,
Heart that lingers.
I only move for you.
I feel I know you well,
If I were you I'd wait
[Chorus]
[Interlude]
[Chorus]
Wait for love.
Until someone moves or cares,
Wait for love. [x4]
Conceived with no eyes.
Listen for the voice.
Plant within me, eyes that open.
Leading where I walk.
I feel I know you well,
If I were you I'd wait
[Chorus:]
Until someone moves or cares,
Stay captive.
Keep yourself there,
Wait for love. [x2]
I see everything,
Every move I make,
Painted before you.
Stall your move,
Heart that lingers.
I only move for you.
I feel I know you well,
If I were you I'd wait
[Chorus]
[Interlude]
[Chorus]
Wait for love.
Until someone moves or cares,
Wait for love. [x4]

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Head > Heels

Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
American Town

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
Yeh, one of Still Remains better songs, from this album anyway.
I guess it's about waiting for a true love instead of just throwing yourself to someone without thinking twice?
This song seems to me why stress and fret about someone because if there worth it theyll come to you. It sorta saying to a guy stand up and stop chasing which is what a girl wants, you see him put his arm round her and reject him but once he dont show no effection she crawls back to him... the chorus lyrics are bang on! its about time girls did chasing
this song to me is not about a girl or other worldly relationship but instead the love of our eternal father.
God is the only one that truly can guide us where we walk, and this song seems to me as a prayer asking for God to show him where to go but Gods answer is simply to wait. stay captive in this world until the time comes for me to bring you home. "heart that lingers i only move for you" God comes to those who wait, those who stay patient in their walk. God is always there leading us on but sometimes he tells us to stay put right where we are, and he will do the moving in our lives.
sometimes we try too hard going out and searching for love, often finding it in all the wrong places such as the bottom of a bottle or in a stranger's bed. when if we stay calm and captive and simply wait that love of God will come to us.
Still Remains are a good band but god can gargle on my balls.
LMFAO!
amazing song, as is saying that love will find you, u shouldnt go looking for love, it will happen when its time until that time, dont fall for anything else but true love
Maybe it's about God and a worldly relationship. Maybe it's a combination of waiting for worldly love, but that God will lead us to it. I don't think it's JUST about a girl, or JUST about God. I don't see any references to throwing ourselves on a random relationship, although I guess it is just assumed the listener will pick up on it.
thatguy517 is most definately wrong. The song is someone talking to another person... And the last time I checked, nobody really told god OR jesus to "Stay Captive" and "Wait For Love". I'm not being anti-religious, and you can state your own opinion, but I think it's wrong.
I believe the song is about a realtionship, in a sense. It seems to be about someone who's stuck in an abusive or hurtful relationship, or maybe had just come out of a bad one. Either way, they're telling the person to wait for love, and to Stay Captive under whoever's "love" they are under and wait for something real. Either that, or tomo1811 was on the button. Good estimate, sir!
Also, how's a hardcore band that is often in the genre of death and evil going to have a song that is about God?
The band is Christian, so thatguy517 might not be too far off.
SKa Punk01, not all bands in that genre are about evil, in fact, THIS IS A CHRISTIAN METAL BAND! so stop judging things you don't know anything of
