Back to the street where we began
Feeling as good as lovers can, you know
Yeah, we're feeling so good
Picking up things we shouldn't read
Looks like the end of history as we know
It's just the end of the world
Back to the street where we began
Feeling as good as love, you could, you can

Into a place where thoughts can bloom
Into a room where it's nine in the afternoon
And we know that it could be
And we know that it should
And you know that you feel it too

'Cause it's nine in the afternoon
And your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can, so you do
We're feeling so good, just the way that we do
When it's nine in the afternoon
Your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can, so you do
We're feeling so good

Back to the street, down to our feet
Losing the feeling of feeling unique
Do you know what I mean?
Back to the place where we used to say
"Man it feels good to feel this way"
Now I know what I mean

Back to the street, back to the place
Back to the room where it all began
Back to the room where it all began

'Cause it's nine in the afternoon
And your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can, so you do
We're feeling so good, just the way that we do
When it's nine in the afternoon
Your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can, so you do
We're feeling so good
Just the way that we do

When it's nine in the afternoon
Your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can, so you do
We're feeling so good, just the way that we do
When it's nine in the afternoon

    My Interpretation

Even though I know this song is about the new genre P!atD was implementing in their new album, I've always saw this as a song I could relate to my own life. For the longest time, I've liked this one guy who's in a few of my classes (he likes me too, I know it >.< ) and this song NEVER fails to make me think of him.

Back to the street where we began Feeling as good as lovers can, you know Yeah we're feeling so good

Pickin’ up things we shouldn’t read It looks like the end of history as we know It’s just the end of the world

Back to the street where we began Feeling as good as love, you could, you can

^This part always makes me think of when I first walk into English class, which is where our relationship really seems to be taking off. Whenever we hang out, we always have a lot of fun - as much fun as two people in love could have, even though we haven't reached that stage in our relationship. The part about picking up things we shouldn't read just refers to how we always kinda rebel when we're around. I'm usually always the very quiet girl in class, but whenever we sit near eachother, I'm always the loudest - the teacher has to keep telling us to be quiet, but, for some reason, we don't really care, even if we're both good, honor class kids. We just kinda say, "Oh well, whatever" and laugh about it afterwards, which could be related to the "it's JUST the end of the world", kinda like, "Oh, well, getting in trouble isn't a BIG deal", if you know what I mean.

Into a place where thoughts can bloom Into a room where it's nine in the afternoon And we know that it could be And we know that it should And you know that you feel it too 'Cause it's nine in the afternoon

^"Into a place where thoughts can bloom" kinda goes along with how English class makes you think - it makes ideas spring to life. Not only that, a lot of my first thoughts about liking him kinda grew in the room, as well as our relationship. The "nine in the afternoon" thing is cool, because we always have English at around nine. And you know, "nine in the afternoon" is kind of a weird statement, since nine o clock can never be in the afternoon, which kinda goes back to all the weird, quirky stuff we say to each other. And the whole "we know that it could be" thing just kinda refers to the fact that we know we could be together. When I say I'm sure he likes me...I mean, I have literally never been more sure of anything in my life, I am THAT sure. Also, he once said to me, "You know you love me," and gave me a nudge and one of his signature expressions, which reminds me of those lines in the song.

And your eyes are the size of the moon You could 'cause you can so you do We're feeling so good just the way that we do When it's nine in the afternoon

Your eyes are the size of the moon You could 'cause you can so you do We're feeling so good

^"Your eyes are the size of the moon" - the guy I like has these really big blue eyes that ALWAYS widen whenever we do something kinda romantic, like when he complimented how I look or when I "held his hand" (which I didn't even really do - my friend kept making fun of me though >.< -_-). So, like the song says, his eyes get HUGE whenever something like that occurs - so big, they're the size of the moon~! And the "you could cause you can so you do" thing just kinda refers to our personalities. We're the kind of people who always tease people and make fun of them (good naturedly, of course), and whenever people ask us, "Why are you guys so mean?", we just say, "Cause we can be!"

Back to the street Down to our feet Losing the feeling of feeling unique Do you know what I mean?

Back to the place Where we used to say Man it feels good to feel this way Now I know what I mean

Back to the street, back to the place, Back to the room where it all began, hey Back to the room where it all began 'Cause it's nine in the afternoon

^This part is just like the beginning. And "losing the feeling of feeling unique"...I can't really relate this part, except maybe the fact that some of our inside jokes are so old and have been circulated throughout the grade so much, they're not even unique, but it still feels so good to tell them..I guess. Like I said, I don't have much for this part.

Your eyes are the size of the moon You could 'cause you can so you do We're feeling so good Just the way that we do When it's nine in the afternoon [x3]

^And I already talked about that part nod nod

But really, I know this is a more personal song meaning, but it really means a lot to me. For the next school dance, if I can get this guy to come, I'll ask the DJ if he can play this song. Hopefully, I can get my friend to dance with me if he isn't moping like last time >.<

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
