Old Dances Lyrics

Your lips are darker than before
and the bags under your eyes are blacker than they were
and there's something different about your skin
and nobody knows how you got home last night

Your lips are darker than before
and the bags under your eyes are blacker than they were
and there's something different about your skin
and nobody knows how you got home last night

Your bones are making me feel weary and when you speak
I can't hear a word that you say

Your bones are making me feel weary and when you speak
I can't hear a word that you say
and nobody knows how you got home last night.

And still no one knows how you got home last night.

If there were three old dances we could dance, maybe.
Three old songs that we could sing maybe,
everything could be alright.

But i keep trippin' up the steps and there are just some words I forget
and the tunes are fuzzy in my mind.

And nobody knows how you got home last night.
still nobody knows how you got home.

And my brain hurts and my soul is aching
and i'm not sure if my heart can take it.
And my brain hurts and my soul does ache and I, I have never felt this much pain.
And my brain hurts and my sould does ache and I think my heart's about to break.

And nobody knows how you got home last night.
Still, no one knows how you got home last night.

To quote Kate, "it's pop music from the heart, written by real people."

everytime i look on this page, there are new lyrics to a new nash song. yet when i try and download them, i can never find them. like navy taxi for instance.

i love 'And my brain hurts and my soul is aching and i'm not sure if my heart can take it.'

i guess she speaks for everyone, when we just can't find the words.

This song is absolutely amazing. Personally, I don't think she's referring to a single night, but rather a lifetime when she sings this. To me, the song pulsates with questions and a certain sense of pain. I love that Kate Nash knows how to write so that people can truly relate to her.

Maybe she lost her boyfriend or friend to drugs? The bags under his eyes and the dark lips could be a result of drugs.

Hey, all kate nash fans can you please tell me what album i can get her other songs on?? i have the made of bricks one but dont know where to find her other songs.. i love her so much and i want to hear her other songs very badly!! thanks!

fuzzyguts, made of bricks is the only album kate's had out, most of the other songs here are b-sides to the singles she's released or lyrics that have been leaked. you can probably download them off itunes or something. hope that helps :)

i think she's releasing a new album this year cause i read that she had began to write it. i love her!

this is why i love kate nash so much. honestly, any body could write this and make a song out of it. but that's exactly what i like. she's so real and raw. it doesn't have to be such complex lyrics, yet its such a deep meaning. i lovelovelove her.
