The plane takes off and the ground's so far away
I try to think about the position I am in
And what I'm supposed to say
The ground below won't keep me grounded
You're sick and tired
That's the way it sounded
As I take off and fly away

Cause this is what you want but you just can't say
So let's keep on moving anyway

Cause it's a dream, dream, dream, dream
Trying to wake up
I can hardly breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe
High up on a cloud, dancing with reality

My blood starts rushing and I don't know what to say
Try not to think about the little voice inside my head
And dreams when I know I'm never safe
I lose control, you break commitment
We stop thinking as we start this engine
Standing up for one night, hiding months of pain

Cause this is what you want but you just can't say
So let's keep on moving anyway

Cause it's a dream, dream, dream, dream
Trying to wake up
I can hardly breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe
High up on a cloud, dancing with me
I'm a machine
My regards for him are wearing thin
I'm sorry
Dream, dream, dream, dream
High up on a cloud, dancing with reality

You've got me all strung out
I want this in the worst way
Quiet now, speaking more than words could say
Love is a game that we both play (x2)

This is a dream, dream, dream, dream
Trying to wake up
I can hardly breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe
High up on a cloud, dancing with me
I'm a machine
My regards for him are wearing thin
I'm sorry
Dream, dream, dream, dream
High up on a cloud, dancing with reality

omg i love love love this song. i'm absolutely obsessed with it right now. so pretty much, i think its about this guy and girl who have had this fling off and on. they both know what the other is thinking, but neither of them will admit to it. also when it says "i'm a machine. my regards for him are wearing thin" its basically saying that the girl is now seeing this guy and he hates it. he tries to be nice about it, but can't stand to see her with some one else. so every night he dreams about her and them together; he's dancing with reality... amazing song!!!

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
