When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour we spent together
Lives within my heart

And when she was sad
I was there to dry her tears
And when she was happy so was I
When she loved me

Through the summer and the fall
We had each other that was all
Just she and I together
Like it was meant to be

And when she was lonely
I was there to comfort her
And I knew that she loved me

So the years went by
I stayed the same
She began to drift away
I was left alone

Still I waited for the day
When she'd say
I will always love you

Lonely and forgotten
Never thought she'd look my way
She smiled at me and held me

Just like she used to do
Like she loved me
When she loved me

When somebody loved me
Everything was beautiful
Every hour we spent together
Lives within my heart

When she loved me, hey

One of my favorite songs, I love Jordan Pruitt's version!

Not hard to see the meaning of the song...like a doll and a girl, or even applied to a relationship. The person singing, the doll, cherishes the days when she and the girl were always together, "when she loved me". The girl grows up, or if applied to a relationship, the other person starts to change, and then distance is formed between the doll and girl, or the two lovers. Then one day, the girl, or the other person, looks her way again, "just like she used to do", "like she loved me when she loved me". but in the end, it was just a single moment, and in the end, the person singing is still alone, but the doll still remembers and thinks fondly of the days when they were together.

I love this song. It fits so perfectly in Toy Story 2, which must be one of the most kickass sequels ever made!!

I like the Sarah McLachlan version better too. I like how this song is about any relationship. It can be about a lover or a friend or a family member or anything.

I like the SMcL version of this song the most. My daughter recently past away and everytime I hear it I can't keep my eyes dry.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
