Lets all pack up and move this year
Slips the liars and disappear
Leave memories for auctioneers
And those just standing still
They'll miss the taste of wanting you
Call out your name like I still do
But they never said a word that's true
And they only hold you down

In this heartbreak world
It doesn't matter
With their tired talk of better days
And dreams they had but can't remember
Come on lets make this dream that's barely half awake come true

Let's move out of Los Angeles
Just drive until this summer gives
And forget the lies we use to live
Cause we're gone

In this heartbreak world
It doesn't matter
With their tired talk of better days
And dreams they had but can't remember
Come on lets make this dream that's barely half awake come true

In this heartbreak world
It doesn't matter
With their tired talk of better days
And dreams they had but can't remember
Come on lets make this dream that's barely half awake come true

In this heartbreak world
With tired talk
And this heartbreak world
Where nothing matters
Come on lets make this dream that's barely half awake
Come on lets make this dream that's barely half awake come true

Its a song about running away. About leaving your life behind and everyone and everything in it.

This is about moving on and forgetting your past. About the hope of leaving tough times behind you and chasing a once-shining-but-now-fading ambition.

I really love this song, I can really relate to just wanting to run away and search for what I've always wanted. I think the song is more about achieving dreams then running away though. The first stanza's two lines I see as a metaphor for getting up and doing something to achieve what you want, and how you shouldn't stop going for something and should not dwell not he past but create more. It sounds like people are holding him back and just talk about improving themselves and that all the pain they talk about is just imagined because they dwell on it. To me its really about just doing something to reach your dream.

"C'mon lets make this dream thats barely half awake come true" I can totally relate to this line, there are times when i feel like i can't reach far enough to touch my dreams, but i still try...Gosh...we're all made of dreams, and we can make them come true if we just forget the world we live in and go get'em.

I know this isnt anything like what the song actually means but to me it means something different. i had goals of making junior nationals and all american. my coach was then fired. the first night of practice after he was fired i heard this song on the way home. The line "C'mon lets make this dream thats barely half awake come true" made me think that i shouldnt just give up and i can still achieve my goals. i am now on a new team with a new coach and i am gonna reach my goals

I think this song is so inspiring. The title might turn people away, but its saying that although people try to tear you down. The heartbreak world (breaks people hearts and dreams) has so much to offer and that if you try and brush pass the fact it is a heartbreak world you can make your dreams come true. Which to me also brings back the title if you look at it and although it just seems like a sad pessimistic song you realize how inspirational and optimistic it really is.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
