I think this song is about a couple who have gotten into a rut - the woman wishes their relationship had it's spark back, but the man is quite comfortable.
I partially agree, I think this song is about a couple where the man is just finding it easier to do nothing rather than break off the relationship. The woman knows it's over, but she doesn't want to hear it ('no don't try to speak'), not because she's denying it, just because its hard to give it a name.
