History of Mercia Lyrics
in the banquet-hall were put on a bench assigned,
all were strong until we sat them down,
to call them out. A henchman attended,
carried a cup in hand,
served the clear liquor to the forgotten men.
And these words were sang to me,
no glory to shame, take it all aside and
show me your face, just once again
heroes revealed.
take it all aside, show me your face
the suns gone without a trace,
These are all men of glory and fame.
They'll go to their homes, to be with
their kids, but once a heros revealed
grab your gear and lets lift these arms
them and so have I, but now we shall resign.
heroes revealed, no glory to shame, take it aside and call

So how the does this song not have any comments yo?! this song is the shizz!illl admitt i have no clue what it means but lets not let this be a useless post soo. at a quick quick glance i think it might be about how obviously these were honorable men and i guess they were being gathered to what they thought was gonna be lie a award ceremony or to like reward their courage at war or whateverr. but then the peopel who were supposed to be hnoring them start to denounce them as if they did somehting wrong or something they shouldnt of iono hey at least i tried ! instead of just saying "this song roxx!"

Mercia was a region located at the center of England close to the 8th or 9th century. I'm not sure what portion of the regions history the song refers to though. Alot of battles happened back then for claim of the lands, but it seems to be something about calling out the lords and protectors, but it turns out they are not heroes as they are to afraid to rise to teh challenge. So a hero must be revealed.

I'm going to agree with Blackmouth on the fact i have absolutly no clue what this song means...
yet again, i will say it does seem to be that what is happeing is:
a group of men that was hailed as heros, but then they were found out by the masses as liars and cheaters... because the heroes are being 'revealed'
but later on God has forgiven them, and now the people too, should forgive their bad deeds.

actually Princebob888 was right... just saying...
