Year of the Pig Lyrics
Fat full of death they will not starve this year
Feed stains their skin in the mud
Fed through the nose plant their feet in the blood
Surfeit of the beast turned to tricks for a feast
Tear into the filth like a whore
Suck the meat from the bones leave the corpse on the floor
One final meal before kissing the spear
Skins on the hook left to dry
Just use the flesh pay no mind to the hide
Done up and stuck like a pig for a meal
Painted and tied and dressed up
Get it on your hands as it fills your cup
They are the monsters we never became
they poison our crops and our name
We hate that we need them to manage our shame
Carrion meals fit for these profane swine
No mind to the scum they live in
They tremble in fear as they swallow your sin
Bearing the brunt as they launder the cursed
We keep our pigs in a pen
Our place to defile again and again and again and again
Pigs fed to pigs turned to pigs fed to pigs
The famers alseep under the tree
No ones here watching over us
Ashamed of what we do to them
Ashamed of the pig in our head
Ashamed so we kill them instead
Punish the products but not the machine
Pregnant with guilt and disgrace
Delivering scorn on the mess they create
They live in our dirt and still they stay clean
Recoil from the stigma and hate
And suffer the pig who can't change its fate
why has noone commnted this??
this song is epic, and i seems to have a very well-thought meaning.
I assume the pigs are either corporate leaders, or world government leaders. I'm still trying to figure it out, more people should post what they think.
it's about robert pickton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Pickton. As well as more generally society's heterosexist hypocrisy in regards to prostitution.
Anyone else noticed this is somewhat a pastiche of that Pink Floyd song?
Which Pink Floyd song?
Which Pink Floyd song?
Which Pink Floyd song?
Which Pink Floyd song?
It can't be a Pastiche of a single artist. The term pastiche is used to define a work of art that is directly influenced by (re: uses the voice of) many different artists. YoTP might be a pastiche of 60's psychedelia, or it might be a parody of Pink Floyd. Fredric Jameson gives a wonderful definition of pastiche in "Postmodernism, or, the Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism" that might help you understand the term better.
Also, song is definitely about the Robert Pickton trial.
