Whatcha gonna do
Whatcha gonna feel
When suddenly I slip away?

Almost am a ghost
Of who I used to be
Yesterday.

How you gonna touch
And how will you collect
The beauty when it turns to dust?

Everything we make
The cells we generate
Of both of us..

Please be aware that I am you!
Nothing could be more certain
This ain't the time the place for us
To understand this life!

Hold you in my arms
Hold you in my gaze
Singing with my dying breath

Underneath this earth
A resurrected soul
And nothing else

Sorry for this space
If I could fill a void
An ocean wouldn't hold my love

And everything I have
And all I ever was
Is not enough

Please be aware that I am you!
Nothing could be more certain
This ain't the time the place for us
To understand this life!

(I will protect you)

Please be aware that I am you!
Nothing could be more certain
This ain't the time the place for us
To understand this life!

This ain't the time! This ain't the place!
This ain't the time! This ain't the place!
This ain't the time! This ain't the place!

I will protect you...

This song seems to be directed more to his kids and how close he was to dying. He keeps saying "Please be aware that I am you!"

He starts the song off asking what their gonna do if hes gone? He answers by saying that he loves them and that they are him.

A song JD leaked from the new album. It sounds like it's from Jonathan to his wife Deven, about his disease from last summer and how close he came to death. It seems like it made him realize some things...

cool song, somehow resembles "hollow life" to me... the outro rocks; the mixed-up bagpipes are cool, and Jordison's drumming is fucking great - as always.

Well, if the next album is going to be like this, I'm happy that Korn stays with their unique style.

About the lyrics... another love song from Jon. A song about caring for your loved one... and that you can never care TOO much. :)

"Sorry for this space If I could fill a void An ocean wouldn't hold my love" ...explains it all.

The song is to JD's kids about how he'll die someday and that so will they. Korn wants to leave an ideal impression on their children to live up to when their parents are gone.

I think it's to Deven and the kids. "The cells we generate" is like he's talking to Deven about the two sons they've made together and the "Please be aware that I am you" is like him talking to his three kids about how they all share the same cells, he is them and they are him in a way. The "Sorry for this space" part could be to all of them because he loves them all and he will protect all of them. It's really a beautiful song. Makes me wanna cry.

In the DVD JD says it's to his boys. He says he wants them to know that someday he's going to die and won't be able to protect them anymore and that someday the'll die too but that that is part of life. I really like this it's one of my favourites off Untitled... the drums are amazing Terry Bozzio and his gigantic drumset totally kick ass!!! I really love the two voices too (like JD's normal singing voice and one talking the lyrics twisted by some machine) It's sounds awesome! In the DVD you can see I'm record the machine-altered voice it's reaaly funny lol

coldFlame - Actually, that's Bozzio's drumming. Joey just joined them last week.

ThePot - In an interview, Jon said there is a song on the album called "Evolutionary Stop" about what you're talking about. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

Psychotic Penguin - lol, but the song was recorded just a couple of days ago... after Joey joined.

ThePot - no, really, what line in this song could possibly hint at global warming? :-D

and yes, "Evolutionary Stop"'s suposed to be about global warming; now all they need is a song about GWB and one about Iraq to make a perfect album for the whole family. )))

    Anyways, this song roxx =)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
