Living Is a Problem Because Everything Dies Lyrics
Like I'm lying here swimming in memories
I fear God because everything dies babe
Got a gun in the back of my car
A spasm of good sense is making my eye twitch
I've had enough of all your consolation
Tape my face to the inside of love
Nothing to eat but fears in the back seat
Well I've met God and he had nothing to say to me
Bathed in white light with halos in your eyes
Time's what we don't have
Everywhere I look someone dies
Wonder when it's my turn
Leave an open door, what you looking for
Babe when you come down?
I built a time machine to escape from
All the pain in the back of my car
Living's a problem because everything dies babe
Save yourself you're not too far away
Bathed in white light with halos in your eyes
Time's what we don't have
Everywhere I look someone dies
Wonder when it's my turn

this song is emence, cant wait for the album now! iv preordered it, but i hope it leaks just so i can listen to it a bit earlier!

This is now my favourite Biffy Song! Its so epic, I love it =)

The Video is pretty awesome too!

Great song, but I can't help feeling some of the lyrics are just...weak, and nowhere near as poetic as his older stuff..
For Example:
"wonder when it's my turn."
It's just seems tacky to me...
However, this stanza:
"I pray to God, that you're right before my eyes, bathed in White light, with Halos in your eyes."
Is up there with All the Way Down and Toys, Toys, Toys as some of his best lyrics.
it's obviously about the death of his mother aswell, just to give my 2 cents on the songs meaning.
@Rodders The part "wonder when it's my turn" is probably wonder when it's my turn to die because he realises it can happen at any time and life is so short so we don't have long

ooooooh yeah

"Weather you'r poor or weather your rich, everyone knows paybacks a bitch.."

This song is about Simon Neil's mum, who died shortly before the band went into the studio to write the new album.. "I pray to God, that you're right before my eyes, bathed in White light, with Halos in your eyes.", is in reference to her..
It's also about losing your faith in God ("I met God and he had nothing to say to me") after losing a loved one in such a manner.
The voices of the choir send a chill down my spine when i listen to it, and when you know what the words are about they suddenly seem alot less tacky... awesome song.. I now want this played at my funeral when i die lol =)

i want placebos cover of Running Up That Hill for my funeral.
Anyway, i love this song, the intro on the album is immense, since on the radio they start with the choir. One of my faves off of puzzle i reckon, along with Machines... he really has written some beautiful words using his mother as inspiration.

sorry i think most of u have got the wrong meaning. It's about not wanting to waste your life, but about having no idea where to turn and suddenly being aware of your own mortality. it not particularly relating too his mum. btw AMAZING song. its soo relating to how i'm feeling right now. brilliant
I'm pretty sure it is about his mum. It's such an angry and pissed off song, it's him venting his anger about why God has taken his mother away from him. It could be about being aware of your own mortality, but i'm not sure about not wanting to wasting your life and not knowing where to go. It's him losing faith in God after he has taken his mother away from him, and getting angry at the whole situation.

What an incredible song. Cant believe there's only 9 replies. Its about his mum and all that I guess, but also the fraility and false pretenses that religion can endure.
