Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeers really know how to fly

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you

General CommentStill no comments on such a great singer...and song? Takes one (or at least me) back to a time of innocence...my parents taking me to a store to sit on Santa's lap, then spending way too much time explaining that Santa was really just "Santa's helper" because Santa can't be away from the North Pole too long. They just never seemed to satisfy me on why Santa's helper wore the same clothing as the big guy:) I once offered to mail him a new outfit so he'd have more than one, but Mom explained that times were rough and we didn't have the money for it:) How wonderful a sweet song like this is during such a special season of giving.
