"Dance Of Days" as written by and Steven Firth Michael Dale....
Look before you leave
Cause then you'll see what everybody sees
You'll see the other side is out of reach
It's nothing you can change

And everything will work out in the end
You realise the world is not your friend
There's nothing that you've broken you cant mend

On this new Day
I found my feet
You know you better look before you leap again
On this new day
I found my place
You know you better look before you leap again

Stop before you rush
Before you try to make that final push
Now your prayers will never be enough
It's nothing you cant change

And I was simply watching as you chased
Knowing that as fools go all away
Saying you should leave it all to fate

It's up to you on this new day
All the seeds youve sewn
You shouldn't throw away
Nothing would grow
You're in the shade
And you will stay there alone

On this new Day
I found my feet
You know you better look before you leap again
On this new day
I found my place
You know you better look before you leap again

You've gotta make them see it
You've gotta make then need it
Youve gotta make them see it
See you mean it
Break these feelings
?????

Just keep dreaming
Just keep on weeping
You gotta break this feeling
?????

Just keep dreaming
Keep on weeping
You gotta fight these feelings
You gotta see a meaning

General CommentAbout Ian MacKaye's annoyance of the hardcore fans who became too rowdy because of Minor Threat, his band.

General CommentI'm pretty sure this song is how Ian is fed up with the typical hardcore audience that he became used to. And the fact that most people at hardcore shows doesnt really listen to the lyrics that are being sung and if they are trying to listen, it's hard to hear due to intense speed of the lyrics and the amount of movement on stage and of the audience hitting off the performers that not all the words get into the mic. And to Ian the words are very very important and I know he likes to have people understand him when he talks/sings and that often doesn't happen at hardcore shows unless the audience have gone out and bought their album and listened to it with the lyrics before the show happened. It's interesting to see that this is ian stating that he is fed up with it, and not too long later - with Fugazi, and The Evens, he has acted upon the line 'Maybe we better slow down' and did that, and it appears that more people are listening to what he has to say. I think this really shows Ian's positive character that when he see's something he doesn't like or is wrong, he goes to improve it.
