I found the phone
I must've missed your message
You got it wrong, It wasn't what your friend said.
Tell by your tone, I've taken it too far again.
(Just when I thought I'd gone and fixed it all again.)

Your friends are telling you, You gotta move on.
(Just when I thought I'd gone and wrecked it all again.)
You turned around so I could tell you what took so long.
I don't know why i ever waited to say.
Cause I'm just dying just to see you again

Instead of holding you, I was holding out.
I should've let you in, but I let you down.
You were the first to give ,I was the first to ask.
Now I'm in second place, to get a second chance.

I should've known, took you and I for granted
Gotta let you know, I was never underhanded.
Tell by your tone, I've taken it too far again.
(Just when I thought I'd gone and fixed it all again.)

My friends are telling me they saw you with someone.
(Just when I thought I'd gone and wrecked it all again.)
You turned around so I could tell you what took so long.
I don't know why i ever waited to say.
Cause I'm just dying just to see you again .

Instead of holding you, I was holding out.
I should've let you in, but I let you down.
You were the first to give ,I was the first to ask.
Now I'm in second place, to get a second chance.

My last mistake, putting my friends first.
I tried to laugh it off but I made things worse.
You were the first to give, I was the first to ask.
Now I'm in second place, to get a second chance.

What you give is always what you get.
There's so much I haven't given yet.
If you could give another second chance.
(Just when I thought I'd gone and fixed it all again.)

My friends are telling me they saw you with someone.
(Just when I thought I'd gone and wrecked it all again.)
You turned around so I could tell you what took so long.
I don't know why I ever waited to say.
Cause I'm just dying just to see you.

Instead of holding you, I was holding out.
I should've let you in, but I let you down.
You were the first to give ,I was the first to ask.
Now I'm in second place, to get a second chance.

My last mistake, putting my friends first.
I tried to laugh it off but I made things worse.
You were the first to give I was the first to ask.
Now I'm in second place to get a second chance.

Instead of holding you, I was holding out.
I should've let you in, but I let you down.
You were the first to give ,I was the first to ask.
Now I'm in second place, to get a second chance.

I can't believe this song has no comments! I heard it a couple months ago on the radio and looked up the lyrics on the internet...when I found out it was Faber Drive I couldn't believe it! I remembered seeing these guys and meeting them when they were on tour with Hedley and immediately falling in love with them...more specifically David Hinsley. ;) I mean the guy smells amazing, lol...but it's pretty obvious what this song is about. It seems like he just fucked up the relationship because he wasn't treating her right and wasn't spending enough time with her and now it looks like there's another guy in her life, thus 'Now I'm in second place, to get a second chance'.

I just heard this song yesterday, and I instantly fell in love. I realized that they're touring with Marianas Trench, and I really wanted to see them. Oh well; mainly, this song's about some guy that's fucked up his relationship and regrets it now. :]

This song is SO good. I hear it on the radio too! I've heard it twice: and that's pretty good, because the radio station around here is pretty terrible.

I first heard it when the video premiered on MuchMusic, and I immediately liked it. It's pretty sweet, in my opinion. And the video isn't a wierd one either, it reflects on the song.

I think it's about how this guy is trying to make his relationship with his girlfriend work, but he keeps screwing up. He makes so many mistakes, and he's praying for a second chance; he want's to do it over again. It ends up his girl is getting fed up with him... but it's a really great song!

'just when i thought i'd gone and wrecked it all again' -faavorite :]

mmm. i think it's about a guy who's in a relationship, obviously, and he likes her, but he's screwing up. and he knows he's screwing up and he's trying not to, but he keeps doing it. but she's getting tired of waiting for him, and she ends up meeting someone else.

    love this song thoughhh. :)

Looks to me like a simple case of "I had you, I lost you and now I see why I wanted you now that you're gone." Regardless, I love the song. I think a lot of people have done it and regret it, but a lot of us just don't have the talent to write it down to explain just how much we regret it so poetically. Great song.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
