The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

But it also seems like a mutual thing of sorts. "I’m a hole you’ll fill for the rest of your life" seems to me that he will have an impact on that person and they will look for others just like him in the future. And maybe "You can’t you can’t you can’t stop a bullet I’m givin you my trigger but you better never pull it" possibly means that he is giving that person the ability to f*ck him up just as bad but they better not try. I don't know i get mixed feelings from the lyrics but i do believe its about an abusive/masochistic relationship of some sort possibly.
