Es beginnt jeden Morgen
Es klingelt um Sieben
Der Wecker und ich
Bleiben erstmal schön liegen
Ich bin immer zu spät
Und I'm Sport zweite Wahl
Darum schreib ich ''fuck you''
Auf jeden Siegerpokal
Ich will dich nur für 'ne Nacht
Und fühl mich gut dabei
Das is alles zu wahr
Um auch noch schön zu sein
Und ich frag mich ob ich
In den Himmel komm
So überhaupt nicht fromm

Hey Teufel komm raus
Ich hab dich gesehn
Und noch die Hoffnung
Do wirst mich verstehen
Hey Teufel kannst do
Meine Beichte lesen
Und da mit Gott
Noch mal drüber reden

Ich bin leider ehrlich
Auch wo es nicht passt
Und seit meiner Beichte
Beim Pastor verhasst
Ich weis es gweht gar nicht
Doch es lag auf der Hand
Und dann hab ich meinem Bruder
Die Freundin ausgespannt
Man hat mir jede Lüge
Schonmal geglaubt
Und in meine leeren
Versprechen vertraut
Und ich frag mich
Ob ich in den Himmel komm
So überhaupt nicht fromm

Hey Teufel komm raus
Ich hab dich gesehn
Und noch die Hoffnung
Do wirst mich verstehen
Hey Teufel kannst do
Meine Beichte lesen
Und da mit Gott..

Hey Teufel komm raus
Ich hab dich gesehn
Und noch die Hoffnung
Do wirst mich verstehen
Hey Teufel kannst do
Meine Beichte lesen
Und da mit Gott
Noch mal drüber reden

Bitte seid nicht zu gemein
Gebt mir noch 'ne Chance oder zwei
Oder lasst mich wenigstens
Der Engel in der Hölle sein

lalalalala
Schalalalala
Schalalalala
Schalalalalaaaaa

Hey Teufel komm raus
Ich hab dich gesehn
Und noch die Hoffnung
Do wirst mich verstehen
Hey Teufel kannst do
Meine Beichte lesen
Und da mit Gott..

Hey Teufel komm raus
Ich hab dich gesehn
Und noch die Hoffnung
Do wirst mich verstehen
Hey Teufel kannst do
Meine Beichte lesen
Und da mit Gott
Noch mal drüber reden

Und hast do keinen Bock
Dann lass es eben
Kannst ja mal überlegen

Hes NOT praying to satan, he's asking satan cuz god won't listen cuz he has no religion. He wants him to read his confession, how could that be satanic?

There's a story that Bill had his first kiss on the same day his brother Tom had his, with the same girl! I dunno if it's true, but the lines "dann hab ich meinem Bruder/ die Freundin ausgespannt " seem to translate as 'I stole my brother's girlfriend.

Here, he seems to be asking the Devil to hear his confession and then talk about it with God. He's too embarassed to go to God himself coz he did a bad thing!

Well, what aligater said, is... well, a little different to what I took in...

He is really fed up with God because he wont listen to him, so he asks Satan. He doesn't have a religion... and he wants someone to listen to his confession. It's as simple as that.

Actually Tom and Bill both had their first kiss with the same girl, first Tom and then the next day was Bill. He's asking Satan to read his confession [Beichte] and talk it over with God.

He was asked about it in an interview: youtube.com/watch And there are translations on the right. Keep in mind Tom's slighty... tipsy there.

I get what this song's about. Though, I just find it strange that Bill is asking the Devil to read the confession to God. I wouldn't want to discuss anything with any of my enemies.

But when your enemy's the only one who will hear you out? What do you do then? Or, and enemy has such a low opinion of you anyway, and you don't care what they think, as opposed to a friend.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
