I feel oh-so glamorous
Looking super fabulous
Sometimes I'm insecure
Something I can't ignore
All the flashing cameras
Try my best to handle it
I'm just the girl next door
I can hear the rumors take all

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
I can tell by the look that they want to be
Be hot, hot, hot like that
But it's not, not, no, it's not like that
All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
They put me down 'cause of jealousy
But I'm not, not, not that girl
And it's not, not, no, it's not my world

So many girls be checkin' my style
Checkin' my style, checkin' my style
So many girls be checkin' my style
But I don't even care, no

I move in mysterious ways that got them curious
They're looking at what I'm wearing
Standing on the sidelines staring
Taking every chance I get
To find who I'm going with
I just wish they'd see what I'm like in real life

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
I can tell by the look that they want to be
Be hot, hot, hot like that
But it's not, not, no, it's not like that
All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
They put me down 'cause of jealousy
But I'm not, not, not that girl
And it's not, not, no, it's not my world

So many girls be checkin' my style
Checkin' my style, checkin' my style
So many girls be checkin' my style
But I don't even care, no

What's good: I'm weak no longer
In life it's making me stronger
What I like - I'm a get that
Like a quick cat
No I won't quit that; you heard me
You'll find that I'm just like you
And I do the same things you do
The type of chick that hits spots in my flip-flops
Listening to hip-hop, you feel me

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
I can tell by the look that they want to be
Be hot, hot, hot like that
But it's not, not, no, it's not like that
All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
They put me down 'cause of jealousy
But I'm not, not, not that girl
And it's not, not, no, it's not my world

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
I can tell by the look that they want to be
Be hot, hot, hot like that
But it's not, not, no, it's not like that
All the girls in the club got their eyes on me
They put me down 'cause of jealousy
But I'm not, not, not that girl
And it's not, not, no, it's not my world

First comment. w00t. Anyway, this song sounds kind of conceited... But it's a great, I'm-preparing-for-a-party-and-I-need-confidence-boosting music. It's basically about the It Girl and everyone wanting to be her. {{This song rocks like whoa}} ily. Bee.

i totally think this song is about her worrying what other people think about her. and i don't think it's meant to be conceited at all.

I feel oh so glamerous Lookin' super fabulous Sometimes I'm insecure Something I can't ignore All the flashy cameras Try my best to handle it I'm just the girl next door I can hear the rumours take off

she gets dressed up for premieres, and always feels the need to look 100% even for the gym, yet her every move is criticised in the press, and even if she feels good, the online gossip threads have something negative to say about her. she's admitting her insecurities and sayin that she knows shes not entirely perfect and 100% confident, but she still gets all the shit from the journalists and bitter critics.

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me I can tell by their look that they want to be Hot, hot, hot like that But it's not, not, no it's not like that

she goes into a club, or anywhere, and immediatley causes a scene. but not because she thinks she stunning, but because everyone knows who she is, and they all want to be her, but it's not like that. shes saying that she's not this confident, sassy trendsetter.

All the girls in the club got their eyes on me They put me down 'cause of jealousy But I'm not, not, not that girl And it's not, not, no it's not my world

again, all these haters are talking shit about ashley, but she doesn't want anything to do with it, she knows her insecurities and shes not trying to be anything she's not.

I move in mysterious Ways that got them curious They're lookin' at what I'm wearing Standing on the sidelines staring Taking every chance they get To find who I'm going with I just wish they'd see What I'm like in real life

no-one cares about ashleys feelings or whats going on in her life right now, so long as the gossip is still strong and everyones talking about her outfit or whatever, but she's wishing people would give her a chance to know who she is, and that she is a real person.

What's good I'm weak no longer In life it's making me stronger What I like, I'm a get that Like a quick cat No I won't quit that Ya heard me You'll find that I'm just like you And I do the same things you do The type of chick who hits spots In her flip flops Listening to hip hop Ya feel me

she's had enough of people criticising her, and thinking that she's something she's not. she's just a normal girl, who listens to her music, chilling with her friends. she's trying not to let other people and their words get to her anymore.

that's just my interpretation though :)

It's about her life in the spotlight and how people have been criticising her for everything she does, looks, sings etc ...

and she's saying those events in her life have made her wiser, so now she doesn't care.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
