I am the voice inside your head and I control you
I am the lover in your bed and I control you
I am the sex that you provide and I control you
I am the hate you try to hide and I control you
I take you where you want to go
I give you all you need to know
I drag you down I use you up
Mr self destruct
I speak religion's message clear and I control you
I am denial guilt and fear and I control you
I am the prayers of the naive and I control you
I am the lie that you believe and I control you
I take you where you want to go
I give you all you need to know
I drag you down I use you up
Mr self destruct
I am the needle in your vein and I control you
I am the high you can't sustain and I control you
I am the pusher I'm a whore and I control you
I am the need you have for more and I control you
I am the bullet in the gun and I control you
I am the truth from which you run and I control you
I am the silencing machine and I control you
I am the end of all your dreams and I control you
I take you where you want to go
I give you all you need to know
I drag you down I use you up
Mr self destruct

The "wanking" part is actually reverse singing. if you reverse the song, he is saying "i need help"

I saw Self Destruction, Part Two on here, so I figured I'd add in "Final" as well.

It's basically "The Art of Self Destruction, Part One" combined with "Self Destruction, Part Two" into a longer, final version, which is over 9 minutes long.

As for the "Falls wanking to the floor" and "Wanking" parts... well it's just some random line from a David Bowie song that's thrown in there.

Just for the record, "I am an insect" is not a line in this song. It's "I am an exit." No use in saying otherwise, just look at the booklet. Would Trent lie to you?

EXIT!!!! IT'S FUCKING EXIT!!!! NOT INSECT.

Insect makes no sense whatsoever. Exit makes a lot of sense.

I had halo eight DE and halo eight DVD-A (that's the deluxe edition and the DVD/CD of The Downward Spiral) and neither of those booklets have the lyrics "I am an exit" nor "I am an insect," but the further would make more sense, and after listening to all versions of this song that I have, it sounds most like "I am an exit." My bad.

P.S. MrHahnKitty, calm the fuck down.

obviously not one to ever speak religions message clear, Trent appears to have made a few grammatical errors along the way. Mr. Self; destruct. is obviously an order to Mr Self.

Inversion on the self, I you yada yada.

I believe that this was last listen to on an iTunes shortly followed by not allowing some other thing that was a bit similar on iTunes for.... reasons apparently.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
