"Sleepy Tigers" as written by and Marc Bianchi....
I used to think that I knew
My way around this town
But I'm always getting lost
Since you're not around
I never thought that I would say this
But I miss my mom
Even though for all those years
We didn't get along
And when I stop to think about it
I guess we were the same
Too stubborn to apologize
Too filled up on rage

I wish she felt young again
When everything was new
When her father held her hand
And said, "There's nothing you can't do"

And then I woke up to a phone call
Right On Christmas day
It said, "Your grandmother is dying
In a painful way
Her lungs are filling up with fluid
Even as we speak
The doctor said that if she's lucky
She'll make it 'til next week"
I had one last chance to see her
Right before I moved
But I didn't end up going
I used some lame excuse

I hope that she's not scared
Lying there alone
I hope she hears her husband's voice
Telling her she's coming home

It's just sleepy California
But I just hope they know
It's just sleepy California
How much I really care
It's just sleepy California
How I want the best for them
It's just sleepy California
Even though I'm hardly there

General Commenti think that Marc Bianchi gives off a whole new vibe under xoxo, panda than he does under her space holiday. true, it is the same man with the same experiences but i feel that he expresses them differently.

General Commenti agree with erbylikewhoa. i was totally thinking this music was somewhat shins-esque. hah.

this is my new favorite song. it makes me feel like getting up and clapping (as he tells us to do, ironically). not to mention, i love the lyrics as always.

he's genius, for lack of a better word.

General CommentAgreed that it sounds like the shins but it also sounds like a mix of The Animal Collective. I kind of find this funny because the main singer of animal collective signs stuff xoxo, panda.

Either way Marc Bianchi still stays true to his truthful yet touching lyrics. Not many artist these days have the bullocks to actualy be themselves and say whats on their heart. which in my opion is the deffenition of an artist.

Its just good to hear someone singing about what love really is and not only the good times in life but also the hard times. rather than sleeping with every girl he meets and just not giving a flying eff to the morality of the youth listening.

and yes bakeoffs he is a genius for lack of better words

General CommentThis song makes me so hopeful for things to change and for the future and for distance of all kinds to be bridged at one point sooner or later. It's so refreshing to hear him singing such a hopeful tune.

General Commenti agree with erbylikewhoa, i immeduialty thought of the shins (a favorite of mine) when i first listened to this song.

i love this song, the overall message, and its tune. i think it's such a refreshing, genuine.. oh, and for lack of a better word, cute song!

her space holiday is one of the most under-appreciated bands out there today for sure!

Memoryi went to a her space show recently. and marc biachi dedicated this song to my girlfriend and i. he said we looked really happy and cute. at the end of the show, i met him at the merch booth, and being too drunk, i didn't have much to say, unfortunately. but he told my girlfriend that we "looked so happy out there" and that he'd never been that happy.

if he only knew how wrong he was.
