Brother's Bane Lyrics
Let me aid you in your aim, don't stay behind let's
Maim immortality and death to a deity
Let's say it's just pretend, extend your arm and
Bend now this fatal bow and with this mistletoe
My greed and gain
Your brother's bane
My greed and gain
You mischievous mastermind, for this I vow
You'll pay in a paragon of sorrow, you made my son
My greed and gain
Your brother's bane
My greed and gain
some have their will
And some care not if they kill,
scorching their spirit
So tales are torn apart and cold
conscience close their heart
Just kneel and bow
Can't save them now
All die somehow
My greed and gain
Your brother's bane
My greed and gain
My greed and gain
Your brother's bane
My greed and gain

This song is about Loki tricking Hodr into killing Baldr.
"Honour your brother's name, unarmed of blind Let me aid you in your aim, don't stay behind let's Maim immortality and death to a deity"
This is said by Loki. Hodr was blind, and Loki offered to help him aim a bow at Baldr, which would kill him.
"There's no reason to defend, nothing can harm him Let's say it's just pretend, extend your arm and Bend now this fatal bow and with this mistletoe"
Baldr was invincible to everything but mistletoe, so there was no reason for him to defend against any attacks. But Loki knew that he could be killed by mistletoe, so he tricked Baldrs blind brother, Hodr, to shoot a mistletoe arrow at him.
"Grieving, my teeth I grind, I see it now You mischievous mastermind, for this I vow You'll pay in a paragon of sorrow, you made my son"
This is said by Odin to Loki. He is upset that Loki made Hodr his "brothers bane" Bane means destruction. So Hodr was his brothers bane.

it's not "my greed and gain"
it's "my DNA"

Eh what, noyes? Are you trying to say that they lyrics as posted here are incorrect? because if you are then you need to get your hands on the liner notes.

This is the lyrical adaptation of the tale of how Loke the trickster slew Baldr, the god of Justice.
When Baldr was born, His mother, Freyja, heard from a seeress that he would be slain. Fearing for her sons life, she went out to all of creation and asked every single thing on earth to swear an oath not to harm Baldr. Mistletoe, however, was too young to swear an oath. Loke the wicked schemer learned of this, and hatched a plan to kill Baldr.
The other gods took sport in striking Baldr with their weapons futilely. Their steel swords and refused to even touch Baldrs precious skin. Hodr the Blind, was Baldrs twin brother. On account of his being blind, and not owning a weapon, he took no part in this sport.
Loke approached Baldr and said to him "Why do you not honor your brother as we do? Come, here is a bow and arrow. Though you cannot see, I shall aim the shot for you, and you shall release the arrow"
As the mistletoe stuck Baldr, he was struck dead instantly.
Freyja, gnashing her teeth, saw the prophecy fulfilled, and as Loke fled Asgaard, all of the Gods gave chase.
Soon they captured Clever, Wicked Loke, and bound him to a rock in a watery cave, where he is to reside, unmoving, until the end of the world.
