Give Me A Place To Stand And I Will Move The Earth Lyrics
I melt into nothingness in puddles all around
and when it's through, I mold again
I reform to what I was and come back whole again
Then the world comes flooding back in glowing warm with subtle embers
The body drags to find the footing in an ill attempt that soon relapes in full
Lifting to the calling of the, grace me,
We will carry on again
lifting to the calling of the road
Faltering, faltering grasping at the idle hands go back and forth,
Until we relay.
lifting to the calling of the, grace me
we will carry on again
No ones ever ment to go alone
To help me stand
To lift me from emptiness
The best they can.
Sun flickers in over the world
It says that we never end
We will go on and on and on and on and on
Now that I found a place I can land.
I will hold the flame that they gave me,
it will never blow out again.
I will go on.
Like water in a brimming bowl
I'll flood out and sink into the ground again
Rooting out like wire I will grow here
standing straight always knowing I will never feel that way again
and from my stance now I can move the earth

this song is absolutely amazing, i love these guys? are you sure about all the lyrics.. i mean they sound good the way they are but at times its hard to hear mikey's voice

and this song... its either a reaaaally creative beautiful analogy about something in his life.
or it is about the life cycle a plant. or all flora collectively. how a seed is free and has the potential of seeing the world, but when its finally rooted and and grows into a plant it is never free again for the rest of it's life. and it will never feel the same way it did when it was a seed. However now it can move the earth, something it couldn't do when it was a seed.
"standing straight always knowing I will never feel that way again and from my stance now I can move the earth"
and also "Sail on quick, fly past the world, find me a love" is the best lyric

and also.. the seed is a light one, one that can be carried with the wind.
"Calling out over empty air Now that I have found a place I can land I will hold the flame that they gave me And it will never blow out again It will burn on"
and the flame is the life given to it

I just used the lyrics that were given in the booklet. The only thing I didn't use was 'No ones ever ment to go alone' b/c it was really different.

btw, i just saw what you wrote in Realist and im pretty sure they are coming back to the east coast. They have a show about 2 weeks from now in PA that I might be going to.

I got the chance to chat with these guys, and they described this song as a dark time in their lives where they needed the help of loved ones to guide them to a happy life again. I love this song and its meaning is very deep.

givemeaplacetostand is pretty much on the ball here. It is about human interdependence and the power of hope, which is an amazing premise, and and even better song. This is my favorite song on Earth, bar none, and I cannot wait for the next album to hit stores.

i always interpreted it as him losing someone he loved, or, now reading what everyone else has been writing, something along the line of hope and will to live. and the emotional fight that partook.
in the end its him getting over it all with the help of his friends and family.
however, the last lines "sail on quick. fly past the world. find me a love" kind of shows that he may never be confident and secure enough to fully succeed by himself and will always live with his doubt and depression unless a new and hopeful love comes.
another thought that comes to me with the last couple lines is that those are just ways of getting over what was lost. the sail on quick and fly past the world, to me, sounds like he is trying to keep busy and not pay attention to anything that reminds him. and doing it immediately. while find me a love like a said before would renew his hope and confidence in himself. Thus, it makes me think of this song pertaining to more of a lost love then anything else.
hope this made sense to people, i'm kind of just rambling, but with this context you can kind of decipher the song pretty easily in my opinion.

One of the most beautiful songs I've ever laid ears on.
