Sons of vengeance can you rescue me
They got me tied up to a woe tree
They had me screamin' and alone in the night
I'm beginning to see what's wrong and what is right
What is wrong and what is right
Oh, what is wrong and what is right

The gates was gettin' rusty, as we sailed into the dark
The stars were out and shinin' against the moonlit hour
The wolves were out and howlin', most of the time
And I was cold and shiverin' and bleedin' in the night
Bleedin' in the night,
Oh, oh bleedin' in the night

Screaming in the night
Fighting for my life, I'd die for you
I knew it all along, headed for the sun
Our love was true (our love was true)
Screaming in the night
Fighting for my life, I'd die for you
I knew it all along, headed for the sun
Our love was true, ah ah ah oh oh oh

In the corner of the valley, we took him by surprise
The sound of steel rang loud, above the battle cries
I found her lying lifeless, dagger through her heart
I picked her up, and held her high
And I swore to be avenged
Swore to the best, oh swore to be avenged, oh

Screaming in the night, fighting for my life, I'd die for you
I knew it all along, headed for the sun
Our love was true (our love was true)
Screaming in the night, fighting for my life, I'd die for you
I knew it all along, headed for the sun
Our love was true, oh

Screaming in the night, fighting for my life, I'd die for you, oh
I knew it all along, headed for the sun
Our love was true (our love)
Screaming in the night, fighting for my life, I'd die for you, oh
I knew it all along, headed for the sun
(Our love was true, oh)

the lyrics tell a story very parallel to conan the barbarian(movie). basically a man and probably his people or family were enslaved or captured in the beginning, the man escaped, fell in love with a beautiful woman, later the two of them return to combat the slavemasters, the girl dies and the man is left alone swearing revenge.

    a love story.

No wonder she left him. Who could put up with all that screaming?

Many battles were fought by the Old Swiss Confederacy, 1315–1799. The Battle of Morgarten of 1315 is famous as the first military success of the Confederacy, but it was an ambush on an army on the march rather than an open field battle. In the song he speaks of ambushing the enemy and a shot rang out but at the same time his love was a victim of the battle. I wonder if the helped the men in battle? Help with loading thier guns or something else.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
