Just so you know for certain
You can't hide behind your curtain.
Random thoughts for the old and the young.
Keeping up the time with songs unsung.
Sweetheart I don't think you can get any better;
Believe what I say; every word, every letter.
In this patient world I have lost myself.
And baby I think I could use your help.

CHORUS
It's just past 2 am and it feels like dawn.
Can you feel me? Can you feel me?
I'm casting my anchor in hopes to hang on.
Can you feel me? Can you feel me?
Sally doesn't have Jack on you.

These crickets wont be quiet for anything.
It's almost as loud as my suffering.
When you're not here, its almost all I can bear.
How can this song get any more sincere?
Theres nothing I can do to seem so out of place,
When this selflessness is so hard to face.
Pouring out exactly what you want me to,
It's like it is what I was born to do

And I know that this is what you want,
So I'm giving it to you.
But I cant, pull you from the flames,
That I created.

This song's title gives away the meaning.. its another cliche relationship song that Im not so proud of.. mainly the begining of a relationship when everything is perfect and ur slightly obsessed.. haha.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
