My window pane was leaking glass
I cut my arm and then you laughed
I jumped from just one story high
And now I’m stuck here till I die
Now I’m stuck here till I die
Now I’m stuck here till I die

Don’t you remember me?
I swear I knew you
When I knew you there
We loved and learned under the sun
We had more fun than anyone
She’s 8 years old and moving out
She’s half way across the country now
She’s smarter than the lot of us
She doesn’t break or bend or fuss

Maybe she’s in Heaven now
Or maybe she’s back here somehow
She’s wearing all the finest clothes
And kept in jewelry head to toe
It isn’t possible to know
There is no ending to the show
The grand finale, big hurrah
One day we’re here, the next we’re not

Oh, look what I’ve done here
Oh, look what I’ve done here
Let these thoughts creep in
Let them seep right in
Let these thoughts creep in
Let them seep right in

I hope she doesn’t have to see
What became of her family
Her father left after she died
Her brothers cried and cried and cried

She took your man, I took your name
The miracle that never came
But oh, her life was beautiful
She’ll live through me and live through you

I used to sing you lullabies
I’d hold you when you’d start to cry
I was your mother and your friend
Don’t you remember me from then?
I was your mother and your friend
Don’t you remember me from then?

In the interview John and Michelle recently did about the new record, Michelle described the song as being about several different things, including "a friend [of hers] that passed away, a little girl [she used to babysit] for, death and reincarnation" and basically just wondering about what happens after death.

I thinks ita about a girl who committed suicide

and her family broke apart because they could not deal with it

Michelles songs always seem to have sort of... sad lyrics but a happy song? Now It's Done for eg.

This song is so awsome it's like totally my favourite sung by Michelle and i really like how it's so diferent from all the other songs she sings, not that i think the others are bad. I love all Straylight runs songs they rock.

This is honestly the first song sung by Michelle that I've truly liked by Straylight. I hope the album holds more of the same.

For some reason this song reminds me of the Flowers in the Attic series.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
