This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
A sea of waves we hug the same plank
(Saw your end)
Just as I'd rehearsed over in my brain
(Saw your end)
The waves suck you in and you drown
If like, you should sink down beneath
I'll swim down, would you?
You?
You hang the anchors over my neck
(Saw your end)
I liked it at first but the more you laughed
The crazier I came
The waves suck you in then you drown
If like, you'd just stay down with me
I'll swim down with you
Is that what you want?
You
Is that what you want?
Wave
Wave
Inside
If like, you should stay down beneath
I'll swim down
Would you?
Is that what you want?
Would you?
Is that what you want?
With you?
You

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
This song is deeper than you think. This is an Allegory about self-destructive behaviour, probably Drug Abuse and dragging down the one who loves you. "You hang anchors over my neck" , Implying that she will pull him down with her. Would she do that intentionally? He loves her so much that he would go down with her and try to save her. I can relate to this song. This happenned to me and she is dead. This song speaks to me.
@killareal Sorry to hear about your experience, although I was hoping to find someone who shared my interpretation of this song. Its interesting how a person's take on a song can change completely depending on what they had lived through.
@killareal @killareal exactly what I got from it. Same situation. 7 years of my life and tens of thousands of dollars (a lot on drugs for her because I didnt want her going out on the streets to find stuff) later. Then she dies on me. Not from an overdose though. But I think her condition was exacerbated my years of serious drug abuse. And now I have a problem. Broken back too though but. This song and Xerxes really speak to me and the way I fealt. Even though she was damaged I still loved her more than anything in this world.
@killareal absolutely nailed it. \r\nI\'m sorry for your loss (all of them). \r\n
