Thirty-one days to wreck your plastic face
And it's a disgrace to think
I shook the hand that feeds this race
So open up, open up like a Russian doll
You're the same
You're the same as the next one
Don't you dare run
I've been doing that for years

Look at my face
Does it smile and say "I'm okay"?
Cause there's blood on your face
And that's just a taste
I want black and blues
I want black and blues
Look at my face
Does it smile and say "I'm okay"?
And you cross my path
And taste the words that you waste

I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, to the grave, yeah

Thirty-one days comes with thirty-one ways
To picture your face on the floor beneath me
So take your best shot
Oh, you think you've got me now
You've got blood drops
When you're swollen and I'm wondering
When you're gonna make your move

Look at my face
Does it smile and say "I'm okay"?
Cause there's blood on your face
And that's just a taste
I want black and blues
I want black
Look at my face
Does it smile and say "I'm okay"?
And you cross my path
And taste the words that you waste

I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, to the grave, yeah

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Dr. Jekyll missed his flight
Dr. Jekyll, Dr. Jekyll
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Dr. Jekyll missed his flight
Dr. Jekyll, Dr. Jekyll
I want black and blue

I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, to the grave
Your word, your word
I'll take it to the grave, to the grave, your word

General Commentfrom Ryan Hunter of Envy on the Coast:
"I've only been in one fight my entire life. At one time the kid was my friend...even a friend of my family. He made my 4 years of high school miserable and never did I retaliate. One day in my senior year I lost it, literally. I don't remember anything that happened while I hit him...I just remember before and after. The song is about my relationship with that kid."

General Commentfor the second line, i think he says "I shook the hand that feeds this RAGE." makes a bit more sense than race..

General Commentit is race, not rage. that's what it says on their purevolume, and i'm pretty sure they run that.

General Commentnot to argue but, pardon me for assuming they would be interested in making sense, as 'race,' in that context at least, makes no sense. i suppose they run their purevolume page, but whoever typed up the lyrics may have mistyped, as he clearly sounds like he's saying 'rage.' but maybe they are saying race. i would love for someone to explain to me what that means though.

General Comment"the hand that feeds this race" is a commonly used term. It just kinda means like... The guy who's controlling everything. So maybe that friend of is the hand who fed the race because he started the beef between them and Ryan was disgraced to know that he fell into his lies or w/e. And I hear race pretty clearly... as it ties into "so open up..." very smoothly. Also rhymes with face and disgrace... Makes sense to me.

General CommentIt's not a typo, the word is most definitely "race" not "rage"

I can see why you think that would make sense, but race also makes sense - he's saying he can't believe he trusted and treated as an equal someone who starts all this crap and drama

General Commentanyone explain this pls, I don't understand:

"So open up, open up like a Russian doll
    You're the same
You're the same as the next one
    Don't you dare run
I've been doing that for years"

What's Russian doll, "next one", "doing that for years"?

    and

    "I want black and blues
    I want black"

What's black and blues after all

And whys he say "Your word, your word, I'll take it to the grave, take it to the grave" ?
