The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
Dear loved one Please listen
This might be the last chance I get
I'm sorry I left you I'm living in a world of regret
Don't cry if you can hear me
I never meant to hurt you dearly
I'm so wrong sincerely stop take life seriously
These are the last words
I'm ever gonna get to say to you
When everything falls away from you
Take these words and know that
the world is not worth leaving
there's so much I've done wrong
Since I left it hit me so strong
Take my hand and lets walk through
All the times I've lied and hurt you
Those people please love them
Don't hate them we're not above them
You can have everything but have nothing
Listen I've got to tell you something
These are the last words
I'm ever gonna get to say to you
When everything falls away from you
Take these words and know that
the world is not worth leaving
Last words I'll ever really get to say to you
So listen very carefully to what I'm saying
Life is more then just the games your playing
If there was ever one thing
I could ever get across to you
I'd tell you not to say the things you do
And tell my mother that I love her too
No matter what life pulls ya through
You've got what its takes to make it through
And if I was you I'd get down on my knees and pray
Thank God in the morning for another day
'cause These are the last words
I'm ever gonna get to say to you
When everything falls away from you
Take these words and know that
the world is not worth leaving
Last words I'll ever really get to say to you
So listen very carefully to what I'm saying
Life is more then just the games you're playing
Life is more than just the games you're playing!
This might be the last chance I get

In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
This song is about a person who kills themselves and is trying to tell his family or loved ones that it was not worth it.
A suicide note saying that this is the last thing i'm going to say, live your life and enjoy it no matter what because otherwise before you know it, it'll all be over and you would have missed so much great stuff, and to never give up.
Why hasn't anyone commented this song!? You all suck! This song is amazing, and the bass line in the verses is so amazing and fun, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
I think I read somewhere that whoever wrote this song sat on a cliff and tried to write the song from the perspective of someone about to kill themselves. I dont know what part of that is true but this song is kind of like a suicide note.
this song always makes me cry, it reminds me of the time my boyfriend tried to kill himself and almost died. he tried to kill himself over me, although i know that wasnt the only reason. it was the hardest time in my life and i will never forget it. he realized later it wasnt worth it.
I dont picture it as a suicide note. I think of it more like the guy killed him self and is a "ghost" trying to tell his daughter life is worth living.
People say this song is about someone who is writing a letter to a loved one who wants to commit suicide. Thousand Foot Krutch is my all time favorite band and ive listened to all of their songs(even small to say, feel the place go boom, and heat miser) a billion times. Last Words does have lines that make you think that, but i dont really think that way because i have listened to this song and played this song on guitar for friends who want to give up their life. I feel like at times this song is someone saying an apology to someone they've hurt in other ways then suicide. Trevor McNeavan (or whoever it could apply to) is giving out an apology to his family for leaving them like they were nothing. His/Her mom doesnt feel like suicide but maybe his/her father or brother or sister or other family member who is sensitive and might have problems with suicide. The opening verse to the sounds like an apology letter so that's how it makes me think of an apology letter. This is an amazing song and i love to play for people because i do my best to show love to those who need it most. God bless:)
Since that i know that TFK is a christian band i think that this song means either 1 of 2 things: A: it is the perspective of Jesus when he is dieing at the cross cause it says 2 things similar to what it says in the Bible : tell my mother i love her and in the gospel Jesus says to John " this is ur mother" and to Marry " this is ur son". and it says Those people, please love them Don't hate them, we're not above them You can have everything, but have nothing Listen I've got to tell you something like if i remember correctly in the Bible Jesus says something like " don't hate those who persecute me". or B this could be a letter from the future or past ( past at the time Christians were persecuted. future: when Christians are outlawed again) and the person is captured and put on death row and they are saying their last words to their loved ones. That's my opinion about the song
