You might be right
You might be wrong
You might just think your life has gone om far too long
Your knees go weak
And your heart grows cold
And you're tired of doing everything you're told

And nothing can take away from you
What you take, what you've been through
Stand up and be strong
Stand up and be strong
It won't take long
You can't go wrong
Stand up and be strong

You might have to fight
You might have to cry
You might have to cry
You might have to fight
Stand up and be strong

If you live in the hills
You take too many pills
If you've lost the thrill
Against your own will
Stand up and be strong

And nothing can take away from you
What you take
Well, you know what you've got to do

Stand up and be strong
Stand up and be strong
It won't take long
You can't go wrong
Stand up and be strong
Be strong

If you get all depressed
When you get undressed
If you're life's a mess
Remember you're blessed

Stand up and be
Stand up and be

Stand up and be strong
Stand up and be strong
It won't take long
You can't go wrong
Stand up and be strong

Stand up and be strong
(Stand up and be strong)
Stand up and be strong
(Stand up and be strong)
You can't go wrong
It won't take long
Stand up and be strong

Be strong

My favorite song from their latest album. It may be coincidence but when I have had rough times in my life Soul Asylum made an album that really spoke to me. The band makes music that is real.

This song is inspirational. It is saying that if life gets you down, that you should believe in yourself, and stand up for what you believe. It is saying that we have the power of choice, that we do not have to just accept things the way they are. My favorite line is "If you're life's a mess, remember you're blessed". It is saying that things might be going wrong, but that you have the power to change them, the power to choose your destiny.

This song has spoken to me at a time when my marriage is not going well. There were some things that I was just accepting and putting up with but that I was unhappy with. This song has inspired me to have the courage to change those things.

I hear ya Metalendolp. Their album "Dim Light" is the only reason I made it through a very rough bout of depression in the mid nineties. Its not the only reason I'm still here, but it is a big part of it.

it's about not letting others tell you what to do, and stand up for what you believe in.

another good song's success is not so sweet. it was written in 96 or 97. found this info on members.tripod.com/cagedrat/discography.htm would have made more sense if it was on candy from a stranger. it could be interpreted as why they are breaking up.

people can only stand so much media. after a while some people just quite to get less attention.

    Memory

I can nearly listen to it without crying now! I associate it with my Grandma dying, she had to let go and be strong, as she wasn't going to recover...

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
