Maybe I'm Tired

This song is about love-shyness. It is a condition where a heterosexual male is scared of rejection by an attractive woman and thus avoids many everyday social behaviors so that rejection is avoided.

The giveaway in this song is in the last two lines: "Our love is true / Just tell by the way I'm looking at you." The guy is too shy to tell the girl that he likes her. The first stanza is a message to other men to not become like him - go after someone you like and suck up the fears you may have. He also lets others know that she'll want to start playing games with their hearts - something love-shys absolutely despise.

Our love-shy protagonist alludes how he feels with the words "Well maybe I'm just tired / Tired of never knowing." Since he can't find the courage to tell her his feelings for her, his life is absolutely miserable.

Love-shyness afflicts about 1.5% of American heterosexual males, and has been researched once, the results published in a now-out-of-print book. It is the most debilitating form of social anxiety (if it can be called that), and more attention needs to be called to it.

to me this song shares insecurities in a relationship.they clearly know that they love the person but there just scared on how things would turn out.but he will not let her go because he really does love her.

not sure if this is right but i like to think of it like this. I think that he's talking in a very humble way and just speaking on how lucky he is to be with such an amazing girl.

In the first part i believe he is talking from his own experience but he's saying this has worked for me and i love it.

Then he goes on to talk about what he would do without her, and he's scared of what would happen if they weren't together "maybe i'm just scared, scared to let you go"

I think like he's worried that maybe she doesn't love him as much as he would like but in reality she actually does and he's just being paranoid and that when it says "don't be confused our love is true tell by the way i look at you, that maybe that is the girl talking to him saying no this is real what we have, i love you very much don't be confused

This song means alot to me, both good and bad. My ex dedicated this song to me, about missing me and she would listen to it. That's the good thing and the bad thing.

It's a really powerful song. "I know I'm not good enough, for you." That's probably my favorite line.

i agree with acostuhhh. that line is just so strong, and the sound of his voice makes it even more strong. i absolutely LOVE this song. it reminds me of how i love my best friend, but he doesn't care about me. and i know i'm not good enough for him.

I think in the line where they say 'Well maybe I'm just scared, scared to let you go' is him talking about a relationship with a girl he is deeply in love with and he feels like things should end, but he's too scared to see how things would be without her.

if you guys have the bonus version of the song at around 6 minutes and 40 seconds it has a second song and its upbeat and really fun and i just love it but i want the lyrics!
