Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this: the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
It's not a cry that you hear tonight
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

she by far sings the best version. I didn't think the song existed, and the person was crazy for posting these but then i searched and its there =)http://www.ragette.org/Regina/regina%20shawn/Jewish%20Heritage%20Festival%20-%202005-09-13.htm

Second only to Jeff Buckleys version...

yah the Jeff Buckley version is the best. But this one is really good too

oh my god. i must hear her version.
but nothing can beat the jeff buckley version.

i'd say john cale's version (the one in the film Basquiat) is much better. not bad though.

My favourite version of Hallelujah. Even better than Jeff Buckley's version. Minimal background music, it's all about the voice and thats what makes it.

i love this version reginas voice is gorgeous

outstanding this song was meant for her to song it fits her voice perfectly

what's the meaning of this song?

It's a good song, but it's also a bit annoying that EVERY artist around covers it.
